Thanks for the insightful review bro. Celcom fibre seems to be the one for me then. Will check with them to see if there's available port in my area. Btw, do you know whether to terminate existing one with unifi or just go to Celcom and they'll be able to 'port in' just like changing mobile provider?
*
If you come from Unifi do not terminate or else it will take long time to sign up, worst case your port is taken. Go to Celcom and register the plan you want, inform them you switch from Unifi. Get the transfer ID and submit to Tm, clear your outstanding Unifi bill or just pay 1 month in advance. The switching process will take roughly 2 weeks to complete. Any remaining balance of your paid bill TM will refund through cheque once your Unifi account is closed.

You need to call Celcom to request public IP after installation. Then everything should work fine.

hi all, my current plan is Unifi turbo upgrade 500Mbps and the contract will end on 30 December 2022. I pay RM199 for this currently.

I plan to switch to Celcom Fibre 300Mbps as they have promo for RM100 only unlimited data. I have MEGA postpaid plan with Celcom also. They said the bill will combine into one.

Just want to ask is this a good jump? haha

Is it compatible to use Mikrotik router? Just to know that this also will use Internet VLAN.

Does Celcom throttle/cap the speed for P2P download (torrent)?

Thanks
*
I would say it's a good jump plus some saving if you do not need 500mbps. Yes you can use the Mikrotik router since it can support VLAN. Just remember to call in and ask for public IP after successful installation.
Can search this thread with keyword public IP to understand more.
As for P2P throttle, I have no idea. Hope someone else can answer.

Hey guys. I’m currently using Unifi 100Mbps @ RM129 / month. I tried to subscribe Celcom 300Mbps @ RM100 / month recently. Received a phone call from Celcom few days ago for confirmation. And just now I received a whatsapp asking this :

“Hi, This is from Celcom. Thank you for being interested in our Celcom Home Fiber product

However, we would require the following documents to assist in the investigation.

1. Utility bills followed by the registered address(electric bill/water bill )
2. Sharehouse location
3. Building Picture

Thank You”

Is this normal?
*
You should do service transfer, otherwise Celcom cannot proceed due to that address already have registered fibre service. Inform Celcom you are transferring from Unifi, get the transfer ID and submit to Tmpoint for approval. Also in Tmpoint need to pay your bill 1 month in advance, TM will refund the prorated balance once your Unifi account is deactivated.

Celcom’s aware that I’m transferring from Unifi. In fact they advised me not to terminate my Unifi and wait for transfer id from Celcom. So I’m feeling weird they’re asking me to share location, utility bill and picture of my house
*
Perhaps they are having problem finding your address in their system. Just share your Unifi bill showing your name and address is enough. The rest just cover it.

Good one. So I just checked to confirm this, my address didn’t appear in Celcom fibre coverage. I’ve been using Unifi Fibre for a little over 2 years. Contract just ended recently
*
Yes, I suppose somehow your address missing in their wholesale system. If worst case then you walk in to Celcom Centre and register.

QUOTE(kentltp @ Feb 24 2023, 02:30 PM)
Just want to say thanks to the LYN Networking/Deals/etc. Sifus here. Am here to just share my experience for jumping ship from Maxis to Celcom Home Fibre.
Been browsing through LYN on Public Dynamic IP stuff as I received some RM10 charges on Maxis Public IP thing. Then all of sudden I saw some RM100/mth for 300mb/s deal for Celcom Home Fibre on the threads. Then I quickly browsed through Celcom's Website and walla, such thing exists wow. Thinking it's kinda good deal as I am an existing Celcom Postpaid user since the 90s, it would be easier management.

So basically, we just walked in to a Celcom blueCube store yesterday and requested for Celcom Home Fibre.

Things needed:
-Broadband Statement (PDF will do, they will provide you an email to send the Bill Statement to)
-IC of Celcom Principal Line

Then the staff will check on your Maxis Fibre account number to see what package you're subscribing to (with Maxis. Yes, TM backbone) and offered the Celcom Home Fibre plan. They told me since my Celcom Postpaid Plan meets the requirement for 300mpbs for RM100/mth, it is recommended to take that deal, there is a 24mths contract, though.

After a moment they generated a Transfer ID thing for us. We are required to visit Maxis Centres to request transfer. Do get the Transfer ID handy, keep a copy at least.

We thought everything's done. The Maxperts asked us to call Maxis Fibre Hotline at 1800-82-1230 and to mention "Transfer from Maxis Fibre to Celcom Fibre". Then we know this is the boss fight where they will counter-offer you. And yep, the personnel picked up the call and we mentioned everything to him. They did ask for the reason on what attracted us to jump ship though. And here comes the keyword, they replied: "As I can see from here, you have been using Maxis Home Fibre since 2013, it's been a decade. Thus, we would like to offer you 300mbps for RM100/mth, No-Contract to stay with us. Are you interested with our offer?"

In my mind was like wth if I don't ditch Maxis Fibre then you are going to charge me RM149 for another few decades right?  innocent.gif .

And yep, at the end the guy from the other end said "It's sad to see you go, I have APPROVED the Transfer Request. And there is a one last thing needed to be done from your end. Kindly pay an Advance Payment (excl 6% Tax), it is pro-rated and will be refunded once the transition has been done."

TAKE NOTE, very fishy. Since we are quite not sure how do we take back the refunds, we went back to Maxis Centre to get some info on this. Their Maxperts told me this:
"Once the transition has been done, the Maxis Account Number will be deleted. In order to receive the refund, customers are required to visit Maxis Centres and provide them IC to track back any Overpaid Amounts."
And today I have called 1111 (Hotline for Celcom Mobile users) to ask them check on the Service Transfer (get your Transfer ID handy). They replied:
[CELCOM]:From here I can see that your Transfer from Maxis to Celcom Fibre has been APPROVED. May I know which Celcom branch you visited yesterday?
[Me]: Celcom blueCube XXXX.
[CELCOM]: Did anyone from that branch called you?
[Me]: Nope.
[CELCOM]: Okay I have escalated this ticket to that branch. Their staff will contact you for Installation Matters and other stuff within 24 hours (minimum) time.

And yep, end of story for now. Will update soon on Installation stuff.
*
TM at least will refund through cheque to your address, how come Maxis refund so lousy. Advance 1 month payment I think is to cover the interim period while waiting for Celcom Fibre to install and maxis account termination.
Anyway congrats and hope to here your update soon. Your Maxis fibre should still run for a while after installation of Celcom Fibre. In my case, my Unifi only terminate 1 week after Digi fibre installation.

Wow kudos for TM man at least they're doing something that's trackable. Ikr when that Maxpert guy told me about that I was like wth... Yep that's literally the same as what that Maxis Hotline guy told me, they will deduct the unused amount. Will try to update on 1 March if there's still plenty of time to visit Maxis Centres after the installation.
*
Only thing with TM refund is if you move house or the cheque gone missing while on the way to your house.
Ehh must visit lah, claim back some unused money. laugh.gif

Can try to gather more evidence and lodge report to MCMC. See how they respond.

It seems Fibre for Celcom and Digi sudah kahwin.
I wonder what's next after this.
The routing, the connection etc.
*
It's about time they join up, since their fibre subs is only a small percentage. I am on Digi fibre, and hopefully their marriage will result in improve routing.

I have read the FAQs for CelcomDigi Fibre.
It seems CelcomDigi Fibre is different from the old Celcom Fibre and Digi Fibre.
And you need to change to the new plans to get CelcomDigi branding.
So confusing.
😂😂😂
Maybe for now you will run on existing international routing until you change to CelcomDigi Fibre?
😅😅😅
*
In that case have to scrutinize the FAQ to find out if there is any catch on this new plan. My contract is until end of November.

QUOTE(SVDSparta @ Mar 21 2023, 04:29 PM)
Well I already lodged to MCMC. I was told to contact Celcom again by MCMC and need to provide them with proof I provided to MCMC. I should've recorded the call that I had with one of their customer service rep last time. I remember he said the purpose of the speed cap was to save bandwidth around the time I mentioned. I paid for it and they chose to do that? Like wtf 🤣😑
*
I agree. They shouldn't apply this stupid speed capped. Try to see what Celcom has to say about this.

QUOTE(chupapi_munyayo @ Mar 21 2023, 05:00 PM)
Will there be any price adjustment or offer for existing Celcom fibre customer with 300mbps after Celcom and Digi launched their new fibre plan
*
So far none yet. Let's see by end of this month?
