you don't need all the fancy jargon expensive helmet, just get one with either modular or full face with ece 22.06 will do. just make sure it has good pads and good sound insulation. Spend more ensuring you get a good jacket and change your brake pads and tyre earlier. Make sure you get riding boots that protect your ankle

Well you can blame 22.06 for that. Every helmet onwards is gonna get heavier and bigger but supposedly safer. Rpha 91 in size M is 1740g on Champion helmet's scale and the new rpha 91 carbon of the same size is 1599g, a reduction of 140g. Shoei neotec 3 is at 1715g. Though I wish there is more weight saving, but I guess it's decent enough. Can't expect another Sportmodular weight helmet after ece 22.06 now.

even the arai tour series got bigger and heavier with the 22.06

the new tour x5 size (on the right) is considerably bigger and rounder compared to the tour x4 on the left.

Thinking about getting this.

LS2 explorer carbon.

Price about 1500-1600. Fairly lightweight.

Champion Helmets had a good review on it for noise isolation (a surprise for adv helmets), light weight and features. But perplexingly, doesn't ventilate well....which is what an adv helmet typically excels in, at the expense of noise.

Any users here? Is the helmet really that hot and stuffy?

MX-style helmets shouldn't be hot and stuffy at all, due to the elongated chin bar that affords more space in front of your mouth and a much bigger visor aperture.

I think it must be an issue with the top vents and extractor. Champion helmets' review put it at +5 degrees c on the riders head...where most premium helmets records none or very slight temperature increase.

I like the top vents on my MT Atom modular. Can feel a nice cool flow of air from the front to back. Unfortunately that's the only one thing good about the helmet. Everything else is bad. Weight, build quality, ......but then again it was a 500rm helmet.

Bimola is popular for all the anime graphics which looks nice. For me as long as the helmet has the ECE 22.06 certification then I will try it and see how comfortable it is

Was also considering and comparing this helmet with Nexx x.Wed3/x.vilijord and Acerbis Flip FS-606. After reading more reviews about this helmet, seems like the ventilation is an issue

My colleague using this on his V strom 650 , didn't complain about the ventilation though ~ but did mention about the noise insulation was good.

Yes, that's what I thought. For an adv helmet it's light and quiet...unusual for the class. Ventilation at the front should be good, but maybe through flow ventilation on top of the head maybe not sufficient...

Have been using LS2 before switching to Shoei Neotec 3. LS2's a reputable brand and you'd have no trouble with them although the lower gasket of my LS2 has fallen off after 2-3 years and had to be superglued back. For modular, LS2's Advant is essentially a Shark evo gt copy.

Most of the reviews on the LS2 mentions how it’s basically a copy of the Shark for cheaper. Nothing wrong with being a copy
