Well, after seeing my ex-housemate pulling his hair, stress out with maxis broadband, I will never ever consider that service. And any 3G service speed still inferior in term of speed compare to wired and iBurst. Don't know who really enjoy 3.6 Mbps as advertised.

My first hand experience using izzi is a pleasant one but still, if in the near future, if the speed reduce to 500-600 kbps, I am still content with it. Most of my time in the office. What i need is reliable and the latency is in OK range. Reading Izzi plan to have whole Malaysia coverage within 3 years and cover Johor and Penang early this year sound promising.

I dont have fixed line, and don't intend to have one either. It's waste of money where we already happy with our mobile telco service. Paying RM26 as fixed line rental is more likely overkill for me as I dont want to use telekom phone.

Streamyx? Sorry. Too many probs I encouter before. Just read at other thread. Even today, at my office, the streamyx is really slow. A bit better than old school 56 kbps dial up service. And base on my past experience, streamyx is not so reliable service. DCing, BT throtled down, high latency to US server (except i get IP 218), almost cant use streamyx on raining day...haiyo...really cannot tahan woo.

Just consider what do you need most from your broadband? Izzi meet my requirement so I am happy with it, for now biggrin.gif

For those who stay in 'elite' condo which they provide you fast fibre optic line...lucky you.

Not sure it get affected by this issue or not. My office located at bandar baru bangi. Our branch located in penang island doesnt suffer this kind of slow down. By the way, Izzi doesnt affect at all. Before I go to office I checked my torrent speed almost 100 kBps. Mind you, my torrent setting just plain vanila one. Download uTorrent and use it right away.

Will post the screenshot when I reach my home and hopefully the speed doesnt flactuate much. Duh..wireless whistling.gif

Tweaked settings with TCPOptimizer, and managed to increase my download speed by 200kbps, still upload only gets a minor increase, about 10-20kbps. Of course had to make sure that the signal is above 90-92%

Downloading from multiple sites...pushed the download to 800+kbps

The salesperson that install the izzi broadband for me is staying at vista komanwel. He is using izzi at Vista Komanwel also. But, what i will suggest is, find a salesperson to test the speed in ur house before you subscribe.

I stay at Arena Green, I am quite satisfied with the connection so far. But, I haven start any drama or movie download yet cause i am waiting for my computer.

Request for antenna if you want to subscribe, it is for your own good. If anyone is interested to get a demo for izzi broadband, can PM me. I will give you the salesperson's contact. He is quite nice and explain everything for me.

Initially, i didn't plan to subscribe izzi. I just want to test the signal strength at my area (because is not in their coverage area showed). But, after the demo, i am quite satisfied with the service and speed so i decided to subscribe.

I hope that it won't disappointed me like the EB Broadband. smile.gif

this is my antenna

this is just a prototype, going to enhance to by building another parabolic type. the rec'ver point (N connector) is not perfect so going to correct it in my next project, but in the mean time it's fully functionable and signal is constantly 80-98% during connection even when it's rainning.

Geez, can u tell me how u do that anthenna? I wanna try it on my izziPro, I'm getting 50-70% signal strength from my place. biggrin.gif

wtf r we waiting for?dog dog moaning? who r u?
then wtf r u talking? setting mtu? im using tcp  optimizer to set, i even set it to maximum which the software help u to do tat as well. the 1400 as u suggesting, nothing different. so dont think that when u getting good speed, then u got the power to shoot us here.  vmad.gif

im waiting to c ur speed slow like us 1 day, then u can feel wut we r. from there, i will suggest u to set ur mtu to 1400. mad.gif

Setting MTU size does make different. People are trying to give advise and opinion. which is why we're all here for. Please don't flame. blush.gif
Google it why and how does MTU makes different in changing MTU size la. biggrin.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

P/S: set MTU size to 1400 if u use through router. 1400 MTU size is recommended by izzi. You can find it in thier website.

I'm using izziPro, staying at vista commanwealth B2.
Not satisfied YET, cause I understand why the speed and signal is slow and low here, which i understand they haven't complete set up thier base tower at endah ria.
I'll just have to wait until they set up thier new base tower, then only I start about opinion on iZZi.

so far now, using it for the 2nd week, speed goes up to 70-80kb/s, which likely unbelievable for me, with 50-70% signal strength
1st week was like <30kb/s.
I'm sharing with my housemate by the way.

I will call that place Seksyen 17 instead of ss17. it does make a difference you know.
if i'm not mistaken, correct me if i'm wrong, the sales told me that the tower covers 13 KM, so it is still under covered coz they have a tower in SS 2 and Seksyen 20

Bear in mind, that iBurst signal, even it can cover up to 13 km radius, we still bonded to the nature of wireless data transmission. The coverage will detotriate significantly if your home is blocked by tall building, or there is a couple of walls before it reach your izzi antenna. Even tennis court fence will affect the signal.

i think that we should put it this way.... iBurst uses RF signals... thus i believe if you put your comp near your TV (with Antenna) i think the signal would be good... I wonder if i could modify the antenna to link with my TV antenna... hehehehe...

I went to the demo at Giant Kelana Jaya.

Ping to local servers around 80-100ms, but as with other wireless service, it has some spikes at 120-150ms but generally stable at 80ms.

This looks promising but I did not subscribe because i want to wait and see first.Remember what happens to Jaring Wireless? Initially there was such a hype on it with hundred pages of post, but today died already.

I dont understand why there is no concerted effort by these local players to combine their resources to come out with a reliable wireless solution? TIme Webbit, Jaring Wireless, Izzinet, Umobile 3G -- why cant they just merge?
