Surprisingly apple indeed has no October event to announce all these new products. What a surprise.

I guess that maybe few days later or weeks later MacBook Pro 16-inch and iPad Pro 2019 may be announced in this way too.

Sadly no new colour for this AirPods Pro too. Still boring white colour.

Sweat and water resistant (IPX4)

yeah...not able to answer the call, only can use for music/spotify and youtube only...almost 2 years of using and daily usage around 3-4hrs

I think we'll get an event for the MacBook and iPad Pro - since these are core products as compared to the AirPods. But then again, if the changes aren't substantial then it may just be a press release too.

Recently, Apple announced updates to products without events but on website only. It starts since the 12-inch MacBook until recent one such as Air pods 2, iPad mini 5, MacBook Pro, iPod touch. All of them design remained the same but just internal updates.

This AirPod Pro is an new exception, the design is brand new and with so many added new features that Apple can highlight during events but they have chosen to announce quietly on website which I think this creates high possibilities that Apple may just announce 16-inch MacBook Pro and iPad Pro anytime too.

In facts, AirPods are core products than MacBook for Apple, same like Apple Watch, they are both the best selling headphone and smart watch in the world.

Price is indeed similar. So it is worthwhile to wait for review.

Apple is not the first mover nowadays in terms of implementing latest tech. However, when they release new thing, they do it right at first instead of having half-baked products.

It's a little pricey, but if it excels at noise cancellation, then it's a win for me.

Reviews and First Impressions

The AirPods Pro have a much more balanced proportion especially with the shorter stem.

If only they'll have a cheaper (non ANC) version with the short stem.

I highly doubt there will be display units for us to try before purchasing the product. I wasn't allowed to do so in Machines when I wanted to purchase a pair of AirPods. A bit of a shame really, when they cost so much.

I was allowed to try them on at the Apple Store in the US though.

For hygiene reasons, I wouldn't even use a demo earbuds.

Headphones are fine, but earbuds are a big no no. You don't even try AirPods, just buy it outright without trying - that happens to most earphones actually. Only headphones you get to test the sound

Mine still lasts me about 2-3 hours of music listening

Went to try at apple orchard road, plenty of people que and buy. All staff is quite busy servicing customer to try out the new airpods pro.. the quality is really good and my personal opinion.. it'a better than sony 1000xm3

As of the appearance design, I felt like it's a little big hope next gen Apple can make it slightly smaller..

For me I will rank airpods pro as winner follow by Sony then Samsung... The galaxy buds just so uncomfortable to wear for long hours

Thanks for the quick summary - I previously had the Galaxy Buds and man those are really awful in terms of comfort. The current AirPods are just so damn comfortable, the only downside is the lack of NC.

Might consider getting the AirPods Pro now if the comfort + NC is decent enough.

Do the tips go all the way in the way most in-ear earbuds do? I find earbuds with tips that go all the way in to be really uncomfortable. I really hope this isn't the case with AirPods Pro.

How do you all think about the force sensor as compare to the tapping in the previous gen?

I kind of worry bout the force sensor not as convenient as tapping it. Imagine, after gym...you are holding your gym bag with your left hand. Right hand is holder a cup of nice coffee. And you want to answer a call or skip a song. With the previous AirPods, you can still do that conveniently with your right hand that is holding coffee. Just use your index and tap. But with Force sensor, you can't do that...you will have to put ur coffee down first.

Haha this is a good suggestion really.

I figured because this a bud version so tapping it will make the earpiece go deeper to your canals hence they moved to the press instead.

It's a small gesture that people often overlook, but its practical and logical. Imagine having an earbud and constantly tapping it. To solve your worry, just put down the coffee lol.

Anyway, I never find it annoying with tapping. Coz I only need to tap very gently and it works.

Maybe the bud is the reason. coz I am pretty sure u wouldn't want something to keep "poking" into ur ears.
But another question, pressing it....won't you kind of like accidentally "adjusted" the bud and make it "moved" from the most comfortable seal you have made when wearing it....you know especially when you are running when you hands are not as steady as standing still....

Hahaha...OK OK...I know...I am thinking too much. If I have so much worries...I should just buy the older version since my first gen battery is kong...Lazada 11.11 sales is selling RM559 only

When you're hands are full of groceries (REAL MEN only carry ALL the groceries in ONE trip ) and you get a call...the nose can work wonders.

I agree with you on the whole tapping it deeper into the ear canal. Although I wished they implemented a different solution. Gone were the days of innovation I suppose. Maybe wait for the APP2? The battery life for my airpods are still somewhat ok...so won't be upgrading anytime soon. Unless of course I get another gift

Or you could go for the Sony's? Although the case is hugeeeeee. Online reviews are mixed so far when comparing it to the Sony. Pairing is often mentioned as being iffy (as is disconnection). Personally, I'll probably stick to the airpods. But like many have mentioned, I don't wanna buy something that cost that much to be disposable. Heck, I still have my HD555's and it still works like charm!

Also with regards to tapping...I once smacked my shoulder/neck coz I was sleepy. Managed to skip a track from that

tats possible. The design may not suit everyone, I had issue putting the earpods on cause my ear hole is smaller.

i would suggest ur friend to tried it on first if allowed. Do note that airpods pro is shorter now

stems are shorter on the airpod pros and the in-ear design should snug-in easier compared to the current airpods.. should be able to stay in ear much better

Hi guys.

Just collected my very own AirPods Pro, Malaysia set. Don't ask me how I got it so early even before the official launch.

My first impressions:-

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
The feel of the ANC is really natural and it activates via a fade in/out method, which shows how much thought Apple put into building these. However, the ANC strength is quite limited. When in a very noisy place, it blocks off maybe about 50 or 60% of the current market gold standard ANC headphones, the Sony WH-1000XM3's are capable of. I've personally tested both as I own them too, and the difference is very noticeable.

Sound Quality (ANC)
Honestly, it just sounds like regular AirPods when you stuff them (regular AirPods) in deep into your ears, but due to the better seal on the AirPods Pro, bass is WAY better than the regular AirPods. But don't expect much from it other than that. If you want better sound quality, sound stage, etc, the Sony true wireless WF-1000XM3 would do a better job, but the WF-1000XM3's are too bulky, have a large case and not as well-designed for long-term wearing.

Build Quality
Perfect is what I would describe them. From the AirPods Pro case to the AirPods Pro themselves, the quality is impeccable. How it fits into my ears is also such a wonderful experience. It feels so natural sometimes I wouldn't even realise I am still wearing them!

Usability
As one of Apple's biggest strengths, the integration with Apple devices like my iPhone 11 Pro Max is just flawless. From the way you can customise the pressure sensors to how it reflects in the iPhone Control Centre, everything was indeed done well by Apple.

Battery Life
It's nearly good as the regular AirPods, and it's good enough for me.

Summary
If you want a pair of flawless daily-driver ANC earphones without feeling uncomfortable, the AirPods Pro is the ONE to get! 👍🏻

Thanks for the quick summarized feedback - I think many would be fine to trade-off the ANC's performance for the convenience of the H1 chip. Seems like the pro's outweighs the con's too, so I might consider getting the AirPods Pro too then

Would rather carry a portable earpiece with ANC rather than a bulky headphone any time, any day.

Now the test for the AirPods Pro is the battery lifespan.

My AirPods first gen...after 2.5 years can only hold 3mins of charge on the left one and about 30min on the right.

But we can only tell after 2-3 years from now...hahaha...
