It depends on the exchange and type of product. If you plan to invest, you don't need the data because try the free snapshots. On the other hand, if you're trading, you will generate commissions which can be used to offset the data fee (need check again).

hey guys,
im super confused here. i called instarem and said they can remit in MYR to USD? But since they won't be able to reveal their partner bank, i could not notify IB on my deposit.
but they could share the slip after it is done.
Am i missing up something here? Why is there a need to transfer the money from instarem to SG bank? and from SG and convert to USD?
Thanks!

They can but IB won't accept USD from third party(so if you transfer USD, it's still going to get rejected by IB) Read first page. IB only accept currency like SGD, HKD, EUR. So if you want USD you need an intermediate currency. This post has been edited by Ramjade: May 14 2020, 04:52 PM

I could straightaway using my Malaysia bank and fund instarem to transfer to IB in Singapore account. I found this link; https://medium.com/@ngshiheng/investing-in-...sd-9f78c61f26cf Thank you so much Ramjade! appreciate it..

But you need to sell think about bringing money back to Malaysia too if you really want to bring. IB-> CIMB SG ->CIMB MY is one of thr cheapest way vs IB -> Malaysian banks So your choice.

It works! Thanks all QUOTE(topitup @ May 9 2020, 04:13 PM) Thanks moosset. Yeah, i did noticed someone hit the same error as mine few pages earlier. Just done with the entire application with IBKR via TSG site. Hopefully it works this time, pending new acct approval. 1 more thing, i've noticed that IBKR site directed by TSG was pointing to Aus site ending with '.com.au'. Wondering was that the reason that led to the previous error, i remembered the first signup was via .com.au too. If it is, then i'm gonna hit the same error again, let's see how it goes.

Need some help here. Tried transferring MYR to SGD to SG IBKR account. But Transferwise require 9 or 10-digit account number. The VAN comes with IBKR is 11 digit. So, can''t proceed with transferwise. Anyone encountered this issue before? Instarem is okay but about 2 SGD more expensive than transferwise.
