If you’re a averagely healthy malaysian, then 50mins more or less, this equals to average speed of 5min/km which falls in a normal range (go download strava/iwatch apps that tell your pace)
This depends need to stop for traffic or just run straight straight non stop. If you’re someone who always join SCKLM or some other full marathons, then ignore, you already know wtf you’re doing. |

In the amateur running world, less than 1 hour for 10k is normal. The younger your circle, the more that can get this speed.
My best road 10k is 56 mins. I am 35 and have done 3 half marathons, 1 30km, and will be running full marathon standard chartered this September. OP, 1 hour for 10km is not a problem. But that is usually done with sports clothing/shoes on an uninterrupted mostly flat route. For 10km to work with all the foot and auto traffic, curbs, crossing lights etc i would estimate 9-10min/km. Prefer 5km as you can mix jogging / hiit. In 5km runs in high school usually average school kids runners finish under 30 minutes. Your aim should be 25 mins - - comfortable enough that you could aim with a leisurely run. World class runners can run at a 12-14 mins pace though.

Professional runners are doing like 4mins/KM. I run everyday. Average speed is 5-6min/KM. P/S Attached herewith the last SJMC run. It rained heavily in the last 2 KM so I ran slowly. Still recorded pretty good result despite heavy rain. This post has been edited by ALeUNe: Aug 5 2019, 12:59 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(WindDragon @ Aug 4 2019, 04:43 PM) All those clowns saying less than 1 hour, either you guys are marathon runners or you guys just lying . less than 1 hrs = around 5-6min/km, do you even know that's just a normal amateur running pace? 7-8min/km means you're just jogging/walking really fast, you won't even have the "running" motion at that speed. (have u seen apek/ahso run at taman? notice how their legs didn't even come off the fground? well you look as slow as them when running at 8min/km) 9min/km means you're walking. marathon is 10km x4, get your facts right, nobody says this is a 42km run, most non-marathon runners can run at 5-6min/km for 1hrs duh. just because you're fat, and unhealthy with heart & lung problem, doesn't mean everyone in the world is. Our country is just shitty for any viable transportation modes, other than personal car or motor
If you lucky your abode sits just next to public transport, so easier laa. Others would have to do the park-n-ride thingy |

QUOTE(destiny6 @ Aug 5 2019, 12:42 AM) QUOTE(ALeUNe @ Aug 5 2019, 12:56 AM) Deh, 10KM in 60 minutes is like amateur. Not bad. So there are fit people on /k6 min/KM. Professional runners are doing like 4mins/KM. I run everyday. Average speed is 5-6min/KM. P/S Attached herewith the last SJMC run. It rained heavily in the last 2 KM so I ran slowly. Still recorded pretty good result despite heavy rain. |

Maybe he is emphasizing on the difference running on the road compare to treadmill.again why lol? Not to say treadmill is not good, the experience is different. Btw pace time is better on treadmill. |

Normal people with normal fitness:
10km = 1h - 1h20m Normal people with occasional training: 10km = 50m - 1h If you train properly, take care of your diet: 10km = 45m - 50m Sos: My personal best for 10km is 42 minutes. But have to train properly la, not just run every few days, have to train core etc, eat properly too. |
