Guys, although Digi has removed the usage details from their website, I urge you all to take screenshots and monitor yourselves if you suspect you have been wrongly charged. Previously, I wanted to check when I felt Digi overcharged me but before I could really delve into it, Digi removed this vital information. bangwall.gif So this month, I decided to take screenshots etc and discovered Digi overcharging me. Have filed report.

My past experience of roaming has always been to just switch on the phone and let it automatically latch on to one of the telco's preferred partners.  But if worse come to worst nothing happens after 5 minutes, then you might have to do a manual scan before selecting your network.

Assuming you're flying in, nowadays Singapore follows US aviation rules and you can switch on your phone the moment your plane touches down on the runway.

tympg Its good that yours can work. What phone is yours as wondering could it be phone problem? I've read that xiaomi phones have waze problems, so just wondering...maybe have problem with Singapore network??? hmm.gif

Any of them is fine. They all give free data for new activation.

If you can afford to pay more, get singtel.

If you want to *roam* abroad, then get starhub. one week of data costs around $8. It supports data roaming in China, India, Japan and South Korea without additional charges.

If you want value for money, get M1. The $5 card gives you free 500mb valid for 20 days and $15 2gb free for 120 days. Free data roaming in Hk and tw.

If you need to TopUp, do it from online shopping sites and get up to 30% discount.
*
kit2 $8 as in Singapore dollars? May have to go to Singapore every month or 2 months. Not sure yet.

1) For new activation, do they require one to provide name, ic/passport etc?
2) So if I were to get a simcard this time round, what about if 2 months later, I try to get the simcard--can it still be new activation or cannot?

About two decades roaming experience with various phones, smart and non-smart. Nokia, Samsung, Huawei, OnePlus, HTC. Most of the time it's only a few seconds before the phone latches on but once or twice it took quite a long time. I don't think there's anything unusual about Singapore's cellular networks (except the lack of 2G) that would cause any phone incompatibility.

RDoe Redmi note 5 pro and note 6 pro. So I just go to the sim card and  choose mobile networks to choose starhub or singtel?

Have never used a Mi-phone, but I guess it's similar for Android phones, go to Mobile Networks and scan.

Meanwhile, maybe you'd like to contact Digi CSO to let them check if your line is good for roaming, that all terms have been met, just to be sure. I've so far been roaming in Singapore without using data, and not had any issue.

Good luck! smile.gif

Guys, quick question.
Say if I wanted to test the speed and coverage of Digi within an area using a prepaid card before committing to a serious postpaid plan, what prepaid Internet packages are advisable to get?
Since some of them are branded unlimited but it seems like the speed is capped.

RM 8/day add-on for unlimited data and no capped speed.

Hi guys.

Is there any add-on available to extend the validity of Digi's prepaid line? I.e. RM30 for 180 days.

Thanks.

Only super old plans have RM 38 for 1 year, now no longer available. Above RM 100 if I'm not mistaken.

Is there other ways to change from postpaid to prepaid besides go to digi centre (1 hour driving from my town)? If mnp to another telco how long does it takes to switch back to digi? Any cool off period? Mnp to which telco is cheaper?
