Anyone who really know/experienced and could recommend a personal finance loan, do inform me the plan (no guessing games, please)

my status are as follows to date:
- Employed under private company, not government
- Salary almost RM2,000
- Confirmation letter by employer received January 2009
- EPF savings started 5 months ago

I have already browsed online / phone calls to a few local banks(CIMB, Maybank, BankIslam, etc.), none of their mini personal finance loans could accept me due to one or two requirements (working with company >6months from confirmation date, government servant, asset as guarantor, etc.).

The situation I am in right now isn't death threatening, but I would really like to settle some things with this small loan. Does not matter to me the interest %,  as long as not more than RM500 per month for the duration of repayment.

i think it is same thought out the banks, as long as you had been confirmed by the employer and have few months pay slip with you. i think it is suffice, but i think Ambank has a better offer which i saw months ago probably you can go and checked it out

UPDATE: initially I opened a thread for this post, but it has been automatically moved into this thread by moderator. i don't mind but i believe my post would be better if its posted in 1st page of this thread. moderator,if u're reading this, please do consider my request. just want to help out people like us with tight budget. thank you.

First of all, I am not a staff of these banks listed below, so please do not forward to me further inquiries about their financial products. What I only did was personally gone through each websites and copied over the links here. I am not responsible for whatever action you will take from here, you have been informed. Proceed at your own risk!

The reason this thread is opened is to help people(like myself before this) who wish to know more about Personal Loans(exclude house/car/business/overdraft loans) offered by local banks, rather than only randomly finding out their interest rates or other advantages even before confirming they could even apply for the loan in first. In conclusion, save your time by briefly checking the requirements through the links provided.

I do recommend that everyone check out forumer goldfries' thread first before deciding to take out a loan => Personal Financial Management
Spend wisely, people! laugh.gif

Forgive me if there are any missing/inaccurate/outdated info below. I have tried my best in browsing through their conventional/islamic banking services as some banks offer either or both types of personal loans under those services. blush.gif
For further info, please refer to the main page of banks website and browse through their products pages. Or just call their customer service straight away, best option at hand.

anyone know anything about standard chartered saddiq Personal Financing-i? I try to apply. I use my insurance policy info. Now in 70% stage, most probably will approve. But I'm kind of worry. The interest is 14-30% on reducing balance. Surely it's cheaper than credit card interest (coz I wanna use it to cut my credit card) but reading in this topic, it seems other banks can offer less than 10% per annum.

But the thing is, not sure those banks accept insurance policy info to apply for loan. Plz advice.

personal loan would not fit your purpose unless you can get more return than what personal loan charge you.

Your approval rate is so low, and your credit policy is so tight.....I seriously wonder why OCBC is even in the personal financing business.

Housing loan is the cheapest because your house (property) is the best collateral.
