Anyone who really know/experienced and could recommend a personal finance loan, do inform me the plan (no guessing games, please)

my status are as follows to date:
- Employed under private company, not government
- Salary almost RM2,000
- Confirmation letter by employer received January 2009
- EPF savings started 5 months ago

I have already browsed online / phone calls to a few local banks(CIMB, Maybank, BankIslam, etc.), none of their mini personal finance loans could accept me due to one or two requirements (working with company >6months from confirmation date, government servant, asset as guarantor, etc.).

The situation I am in right now isn't death threatening, but I would really like to settle some things with this small loan. Does not matter to me the interest %(i understand the APR and fixed rate), as long as not more than RM500 per month for the duration(hoping for 2 years) of repayment.

err...!! Hong Leong Bank? Hong Leong Personal Loan
http://www.hlb.com.my/pfs/loan/loanpl_f.jsp?flag=loanpl_f
*
called them, they strictly need a creditcard holder or employee with at least RM24,000 income a year(which mine doesn't reach that for now)

QUOTE(happy4ever @ May 20 2009, 11:01 AM)
Borrow from friends, colleagues or your managers. Return the money to them with interests each month. They'll be glad to be your personal Ah Long minus the hassle. The worse that could happen when you fail to pay back is that you'll lose your friends. But hey, you can always find new friends to leech from them.
*
friends: i would not resort to borrowing money from them even if i know its possible, its just unlawful, unless of course they're my business partners or such to use money to expand work capacity.
colleagues(workplace): even they themselves are in tight budget.
managers: oh no, never ever do it, i've seen people getting 'out of place' attitudes due to the debt from company.

the "persuade them by paying them interest" theory is a no go, its prone to bring relationship problems later as most people 'sign the agreement' by mouth promises, instead of written contract, which make complications later.

QUOTE(hoilok @ May 20 2009, 11:05 AM)
borrow  10k lol got extra then dont take it out n pay back more

weird.

i think it is same thought out the banks, as long as you had been confirmed by the employer and have few months pay slip with you. i think it is suffice, but i think Ambank has a better offer which i saw months ago probably you can go and checked it out

UPDATE: initially I opened a thread for this post, but it has been automatically moved into this thread by moderator. i don't mind but i believe my post would be better if its posted in 1st page of this thread. moderator,if u're reading this, please do consider my request. just want to help out people like us with tight budget. thank you.

First of all, I am not a staff of these banks listed below, so please do not forward to me further inquiries about their financial products. What I only did was personally gone through each websites and copied over the links here. I am not responsible for whatever action you will take from here, you have been informed. Proceed at your own risk!

The reason this thread is opened is to help people(like myself before this) who wish to know more about Personal Loans(exclude house/car/business/overdraft loans) offered by local banks, rather than only randomly finding out their interest rates or other advantages even before confirming they could even apply for the loan in first. In conclusion, save your time by briefly checking the requirements through the links provided.

I do recommend that everyone check out forumer goldfries' thread first before deciding to take out a loan => Personal Financial Management
Spend wisely, people! laugh.gif

Forgive me if there are any missing/inaccurate/outdated info below. I have tried my best in browsing through their conventional/islamic banking services as some banks offer either or both types of personal loans under those services. blush.gif
For further info, please refer to the main page of banks website and browse through their products pages. Or just call their customer service straight away, best option at hand.

But the thing is, not sure those banks accept insurance policy info to apply for loan. Plz advice.
*
isn't it easier to just call them straight away thru customer hotline and ask the banks for accurate & updated info on that?
refer to my post for their number:

i'm not really understand about personal loan..i just want to ask sifu² here...which bank now give the lowest interest and good package for personal loan financing base on monthly payment...and it is applicable for private sector...my salary is above 2k and i don't hv anything to pay (house, car, loan, etc)..i'm planning to use the money to re-invest...hope someone can give idea...

(^___^)
*
now that you told us the objective of your loan, could u pls elaborate more on how u're gonna re-invest?

you do realize its most likely that u're not gonna profit if u're planning for short-term deposit(investment) using the loan that has interest on repayments?
(income:annual dividends VS cost:accumulated interest monthly payment)

though, if its to start-up a business or such, by all means, pls do go ahead. everyone needs to get their hands dirty and experience the entrepreneur stages sooner or later(hopefully not much later, and its okay if u failed the first few steps, learn from it).
