Sigh!!! Ah Long got no fixed rate my fren, random calculations as charged. Personal loan depending on your credit risk and your previous credit payment. Thats why now most bank required you to have a CC if want borrow Personal Loan. Minimum at least 1 year tenure of CC. If not, use insurance policy or mortgage to be collateral for your personal loan.

Just sharing some knowledge. Hope you don't mind. tongue.gif

From SCB, as i know the loan already included the insurance from MSIG co. If you got other insurance of course is good, but sometimes something extra to cover up if some mishap. (Touch wood la) Bank feel safe, your family also feel not extra burden because of you mar... Cheers whistling.gif

I would suggest you to stay off for few months and settle the remaining. Struggle also have to come out with the money to kaw tim the 2 2 2. After 3 months you clear it to kosong, then you can start selling yourself bro. If you go apply now, they approve you also with high interest, not worth it. Cheerss

for non civil servants

if you borrow 10K, 4 years, monthly will be RM280

maximum duration so far is ODBC 7 years. 30K is 600 a month for 7 years. prepare to pay a lot of interest man.

whatcha gonna do with the money? perhaps we can advise on alternatives

thanks for the info. I'm going to get married, and at the same time would like to help my future spouse to clear his 2 credit card debts. so both of us can concentrate on paying 1 loan with 1 interest rate, rather than multiple interest rate and multiple credit statements.

any advice or alternatives?

Pay Bank Rakyat a visit bro, since you can pay thru Angkasa deductions. They have the best rates for govt servants. Approval within 24 hours.

Hi just wanna ur opinion, I receive a check from Maybank RM5k called as fast cash with intrest free for 6 month but with service charge RM192(3.88%- I assume this is the interst?).
I have no plan to used the money but it is worth for me to take the offer and put it in ASB or unit trust?
I have no problem paying the monthly installment of RM833 fro 6 month.

Well, you can try balance transfer among each card if the limit is allow. Because BT interest rate is lower compare to personal loan. Or you can OPT for Fast Cash (withdraw money from credit card and pay installment with low rate, it's not cash advance).

I'm saying all possibilities for credit card.

Well, the only way I can see to get cash is from credit card and personal loan.

After your future wife's debt cleared, then maybe ask her to cancel it and you get a supplementary card for her (if both of you are financial sharing or she is financial dependent).

Not worth to put into ASB or UT.

I use straight forward calculation.

3.88% for 6 months then it's 7.76% P.A.

Assumed ASB return 8% P.A, you earn 0.24% P.A only.

Not to say Unit trust as the return is not guaranteed (might be negative) and their service charge is high.

jags, out of necessity ?

Maybank Amex "reducing interest" is 9% and affinbank CC "reducing interest" is 10%.

if u spend RM30K on both cards and be able to pay RM1500 monthly (at least the first few months), you can finish it in less than 3 years with very very low interest.

Use this calculator :

is there any balance transfer scheme for amex?
