Previously my order being delayed till end of Jun21 and Lenovo already offer with 5% rebate after delivery. But shockingly today when i checked the delivery date back to normal (10May21).
Will they honour the rebate if really ship out within the estimate time? Actually i prefer they delay till end of Jun cos maybe new model came out and try to make an exchange then..

Send customer service an email and ask them that you want written confirmation of the 5 percent partial refund - once they offered it, they can't take it back even if your delivery proceeds as scheduled (as in, no delays to shipping date etc).

I did that with customer service and they assured me that they would still honor the 5 percent partial refund for my order even tho it got bumped up by one month from its initial shipping date in July.

So I suggest that you do the same, so that you have proof that you were offered the refund and you accepted, and also check your credit card / bank statement for the refund.

It doesn't work that way. If you want to change to the new model, you would have to cancel your current purchase and place a new order again
Lenovo won't entertain model exchange without cancelling your current order even if your original order still haven't been shipped

Just made an order through the Shopback app

Called the number and was told waiting time is 12 weeks.
This is the best offer I can get unless they send it late and I get rebate, right?

Edit: I just noticed I can change color and even extend warranty to 4 years if I build-to-order with same specs and roughly about the same price. Should I cancel and reorder?

The idepad gaming i ordered price already increase to rm 35xx with my customize order( mine only rm27xx). It seem they try to discontinue this model and maybe new model will come out soon.
If by mid june they still delay my order, then maybe nego with them exchange with latest one.
But now it stated will deliverid May, i just accept it of course will argue about the promise rebate.

I already argued with them in email and they agreed to rebate 5% in written.
But only if delay from earlier estimate time. Now updated timing will deliver on time.....emmmm....will try to argue again...

Based on some calculations by Telegram group, if you downgrade to regular onsite from ultimate support, you'd save 100+ if you were offered the 5% disc for late delivery.

But that's not accounting for vouchers given by lenovo to extend your warranty after receiving the laptop. (15~20%)

So the margin could be lesser in the end.

Don't understand this part? Would you mind to elaborate please? What does 15-20% mean? Margin lesser in the end?

It's complicated but here goes.

If legion 5P max spec extend now vs extend later for 4 years Legion Ultimate Support, price is same in the end. Could be lesser if you extend upon receiving if you use the promo code to reduce the warranty add on when you receive the laptop.

BUT

If legion 5P max spec downgrade to REGULAR ONSITE 4 years vs 4 years Ultimate Support, price diff is about 130+ cheaper if you downgrade.

Get it?

Yes. I got it. I personally will choose 4 years Carry In Warranty in my BTO. I'm staying just 10 mins away from a Lenovo Service Center so I'm happy to drop by.
I care about the color though, the stingray white is only available in BTO so it's one of the main reason I plan to change to BTO.

I prefer on site because they can immediate fix stuffs instead of waiting for parts.

To each of its own, but do consider parts shortages are quite serious currently.

You don't want your laptop to sit at a center for a prolonged period esp during this era.

If I order with drop off warranty, do I have the option to upgrade to onsite warranty after I receive the order later?

You shouldn't have any problem regarding getting the partial refund even if your shipment date gets bumped up.

For reference, this is the reply I got from CS after the shipment date got bumped up from June 30th to 20th May. (meaning,

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say appreciate all your sharing, especially the promo codes. Thank you.

I just ordered my Legion 5 15ARH05 using the BIRTHDAY code and got it around RM3.5k with 2 years onsite. Wanted the Pro but can't afford it. Did talk to Lenovo CS for the one with 4800h processor as BIRTHDAY code doesn't seems to work on it. Was offered RM3.9k but decline as I don't think I needed the extra firepower.
My existing desktop pc of 10 odd years kaput a few days ago and I needed a new desktop urgently. But desktop parts are ridiculously high now, so did a search and found this thread.

Decided to switch to laptop for that added mobility and much smaller footprint. Choose the Legion 5 as I game abit (casual) but more so bcos of the excellent number of USB port that this has.

Want to ask, is it worth getting the lenovo docking station as I want to hook the laptop with my 27inch monitor? Or are there other docking hub you can recommend.

Thanks
xenith

Nope for the dock.... U can get a cheap 8 in 1 usb-c dock instead... 5gigabit handles the usb ports/LAN.... The DP component handles the DP/HDMI output...
