Just wanted to say appreciate all your sharing, especially the promo codes. Thank you.

I just ordered my Legion 5 15ARH05 using the BIRTHDAY code and got it around RM3.5k with 2 years onsite. Wanted the Pro but can't afford it. Did talk to Lenovo CS for the one with 4800h processor as BIRTHDAY code doesn't seems to work on it. Was offered RM3.9k but decline as I don't think I needed the extra firepower.
My existing desktop pc of 10 odd years kaput a few days ago and I needed a new desktop urgently. But desktop parts are ridiculously high now, so did a search and found this thread.

Decided to switch to laptop for that added mobility and much smaller footprint. Choose the Legion 5 as I game abit (casual) but more so bcos of the excellent number of USB port that this has.

Want to ask, is it worth getting the lenovo docking station as I want to hook the laptop with my 27inch monitor? Or are there other docking hub you can recommend.

With a small budget of around RM100

Actually for day to day usage not necessary but in addition to the monitor, keyboard, mouse, I also need to plug in printer, external drives, phone, thumb drive and occasionally installation of programs etc.

So might want to consider a dock to facilitate all this.
Not a must but good to have.
One of the reason I choose Legion is also bcos of the port location at the back. Really suit me.

I ordered my Legion 5 15Arh05 on the 30th April and Lenovo website and CS confirm that it will ship within 3 to 6 business day.

But until today no update at all.
Call CS yesterday and was told will check but never came back to me.
Drop email to mycs and was told will check but no sound no air 😱

Their 3 to 6 business days how do they count?
I need this urgent as my desktop kaput and now no pc to use. I was hoping to get it latest after Raya holidays, bonus if before Raya.

Okok.... I put on my thick skin on Monday morning and call their CS.

I thought since advertise as 3 to 6 business day and prebuilt unit, will ship very fast. Guess I was wrong

Just received an email from mycs offering 5% discount for my Legion 5 due to the delay to early June only can ship out. My unit was supposed to ship out 3 to 6 business days.

I counter offer to them by offering to pay an additional 5% if they can ship out my order within 24 hours.

Waiting for their reply.

I am pretty sure they can't ship within 24hrs.
Hence my offer.

I want them to know how small the 5% is as it only comes up to RM178 thereabouts. I don't mind paying that amount if I can get it fast. I need a PC urgently as my desktop kaput in late April. had to go to a friend house to do my tax return. With covid-19 around, don't feel like disturbing ppl at their home.

Specs wise, I doubt they can change anything..CS did mention they will ask sales rep to offer me another similar model which have a shorter lead time. I guess it will be an Intel model which I will reject outright.

My order got updated to 11th May from previously 9th June.
According to CS, they will try to provide the tracking number either end of the day or later this week.

Hopefully no more disappointment.
And they added icing on the cake with a 5% discount

Anyone know when the new IdeaPad 5 Pro is coming?
It was on the website for the 14 inch model awhile ago but now totally gone. Was hoping for the 16 inch model.

Something basic I think the E15 Gen 3 Cezanne is a good deal now at around RM3K for the 300nits FHD 100%sRGB.
You can upgrade the RAM and add another SSD later as there is room for another.

Personally I prefer the IdeaPad 5 Pro for it's 14.0" 2.8k screen up to 90Hz.
You will be looking at this part of the laptop the most.

I place my order for 2 units of E15 Gen 3 and 2 units of E14 Gen 3 on 13th July. Received the E15 on last Thursday, 29th July. The E14 is scheduled to arrive on tomorrow or Wednesday, 4th Aug.

If you can wait, better wait as the price is good now.

I bought the E14 Gen. 3 for company staff use a few weeks ago.
I think it is okay with options to upgrade RAM, SSD at a later date and you have more choices for the display to choose now. I think there is a 300 nits 100%sRGB option now.
Most happy is the keyboard and battery at 57Wh.
Not happy is I think my staff told me there is no physical privacy shutter on the webcam.

Personal preference thing.

Oh...ya... Port choices is really poor.
USB 2.0 is a real pain.
