I'd love to, but I don't do cad. I do 3d with cpu renderer, and looking for possible gpu renderer. I've looked into thinkpad P1 quadro t1000 and find it hard to justify the price since the quadro card is based on gtx with different drivers with a price above my budget.

Gpu renderer is the way forward IMO. UE5 Demo showed us the path.
Adobe suite, 3dmax, C4d with redshift
Weight below 2.5kg (with the power brick), max battery life if possible

Do you think I'm better off with egpu setup? Any suggestion for that too?

Ah too bad.
Imo depends on usage. I'd like to be able to code and troubleshoot projects on the go. Which makes choosing the right one so hard.

PD charging is awesome features. My office laptop got that function.

Able charge the laptop using phone charger. But my phone charger is PD quick charge 45w. Not standard phone charger.

I'm considering my use case scenario. As of now, my phone, ipad, earphone all shared a single charger. This allow me to have a briefcase that I can carry one handed.

Would like to streamline this usage too.
I mean, I won't be doing intense work on the move, which will be more on code, proposals and other light work.

Once back in my workspace then will I plug it in for full intensive use.
So my speculation, pd charge will help this kind of setup.

I saw 7i power brick in a thai unbox video, it is wayy smaller then y740. That's an acceptable compromise. If it does offer usb power out from the power brick, man, one brick to rule them all.

I'm not too tied to this setup, but nice to have.

Consider Legion 5 (AMD) customize, use code LENXCIMB. R5-4600H, GTX1650, 16GB RAM

For CSGO you can get higher FPS by disabling Hybrid Mode (MUX feature in budget gaming laptops only in Legion 5 series)

Thanks did what you said got the price down to my budget. need to play around with the customizing thing.
512gb / 16gbram / 1650 / 120hz screen / R5 4600H with 2 year onsite support plan.. Seems like a good deal. Thanks.

Can advice if Illegear or Level51 laptop can last?

I had have Dell and MSI, the laptop seems to be able to last many years, but no longer as gaming purpose, at least still working laptop for my wife to use as office use...

Want to know if Illegear and Level51 laptop can last that long? maybe 5~7years?

I guess it all boils down to what spec you bought and what games you will be playing 5 years down the road

If you're talking about reliability+longevity, honestly speaking there is no answer for that, it depends on way too many factors - QC, usage, how you take care of it, luck etc

is there any other alternatives aside from the Legion 5 series, being below 4k budget with R4600H with at least 1660TI instead?

The question of whether small independent players like Illegear or Level51 has the build quality to last 5-7 years, is a good question. Personally I wouldn't get those even though some will say you get good specs at more affordable pricing. Yes, even for the more notable brands the gaming laptop might be relegated to Office work and browsing after many years, but the expectation is different.

If I want a high spec affordable machines for the shorter term (say 2-3 years) then look at upgrading, then Illegear or Level51 might be fit for purpose. Many other factors at play as someone else pointed out, but for 5-7 years longevity, I wouldn't bank on them.
