bought a 70mai A500s and very disappointed in it. apparently 70mai series all dont have the rear view function on app.

ddpai has it as long as its dual channel.

cant just remove or hide the obd cable before service/warranty claim? but i guess just sending to the charger port will always be safer.
honda's oem dashcam quality is horrible nor does it have 4g for remote monitoring so that just makes things harder

You mean you cannot access the footage or live view of the rear cam using the app? That's strange, or you mean PiP? Else how do you set up the rear cam position?

Btw, I just bought A510 and it can access the rear cam footage.

Can, once my 256GB sd card arrives. That day I tested using a slow sd card when the cam was delivered. No problem switching to rear cam. There is a radio button to select iirc.

Have to disagree, imho anyway and specifically to one brand. Already had 3 Sandisk Endurance kaput within my group of friends, including mine. I used with 70mai A810, friend used with ddpai Z40. All formatted according to manufacturer’s instruction. Issue was dashcam kept reporting card error, initially reformat can last few days, then it gets more frequent error until eventually reporting error in few minutes.

End up I swapped in a Samsung Pro 64GB that I used with Yi dashcam that I bought 8 years ago (yes it’s old), friend changed to Sandisk Extreme. No issue since, also much faster read speed for downloading footage from the app than endurance.

The thing is they are not cheap, plus having the risk of important driving footage lost or dashcam malfunction spontaneously is not acceptable.

My personal opinion: the SC won't suka2 log a report saying your car has dashcam plugged into the obd port if you send for regular servicing.

Just like say you upgraded rims and you send it for service. Takkan SC logs every "mod" on your car if you're not claiming warranty kan?

Or you claim steering rack warranty, I don't think they will report you have the obd dashcam wiring.

There are lots of fake out there especially Sandisk. Kena few times liao, very difficult to identify the fakes.

The only way to be sure is to buy them from trusted store where they are actual well known dealer for Sandisk (both online or actual store).

For existing DDPAI N5 and Z60 user, is it possible to turn off the greeting message every time the dashcam is turned on? Hate all these AI voice beeps and bongs + it sounds a little vulgar

hi any dashcam to recommend for my new car? Common hot brands are now DDPAI and 70Mai. So far my current car is using Transcend DrivePro 200 since 2018 and still serving me well (exceptional is the night mode is so so if compared todays newer cam). Few of my friends who using 70Mai 500s so far said is doing good even park under the sun 24/7 at office and home. Thinking should i go with DDPAI since it is capacitor all the way. Prefer to have a basic one for cigratte lighter 12v usb connector will do. GPS is a must ..budget around 300-400? For Front and Rear

So far I have shortlisted DDPAI N5 and 70Mai A500/A510 with 4g live.

I do consider hirewire but kinda worry as it may mess with the fusebox since is a new car  but what is your guys experience?

Food for thought, if you're going with the cigarettes' lighter port the A510 may be a better option.
Both options require hardwiring for parking surveillance feature, however A500 can still record video when a collision is detected when parked as it uses a Lithium battery.
Supercapacitor in DDPAI are only used to transfer file to SD card once ignition is switched off, it cannot record during parking without a hardwiring kit.

All that hoo haa about supercapacitor being able to withstand higher temperature, I've heard of exactly zero cases of dashcam catching on fire and rarely any 70Mai
shutting down due to high temperature.

The HMC1450 battery cost 16 bucks a pop and its super easy to replace the one in A500/510, unlike the A800/810. Can you even find a replacement supercapacitor?

A510 cannot record in parking mode without hardwiring. Afaik none of the battery based cams can do so. The battery is just to keep the settings and save the last file after you switch off engine.
