Hi - for those that is using a DDPAI Z60 dashcam with OBD Hardwire Kit for parking monitoring, is it normal to go into parking mode after 5 minutes (or more) when the engine is switched off?

My other car with a hardwire fuse connection takes just 10 seconds.

Doesn't seem right, unless the obd kit is supplying constant power to the cam. Read point no.1.

The cam is supposed to go to parking mode immediately once engine is switched off (point no.2).

Not sure whether the FAQ is model specific though.

If you're changing and you're going to use Parking mode, I suggest you top up a bit for A810 - clearer video, rear cam RC12 has HDR, and parking mode has motion detection feature (A510 doesn't have motion detection, a bummer).

Ayam thinking of putting the A510 at rear windscreen and use A810 in front (re-use the rear cam of A510).

Thanks for the info. I think the OBD kit from DDPAI works differently from other manufacturers, and this was not stated in their product description. See point #1 in the instruction manual.

But is it that important I barely check live view mode? I only use when align the XY location.

for me mostly to download the footage to phone, wifi transfer always slow, so now I jst take out the sdcard and put in card reader direct to phone. save time.

Anyways, good luck.

Edit:

bought a 70mai A500s and very disappointed in it. apparently 70mai series all dont have the rear view function on app.

ddpai has it as long as its dual channel.

So motion detect is not same as collision detect? if that's the case then your right.

It wont record if someone drive / walk past the camera.
It will record + notify (w/ 4G) if got impact.

I think I try and see how this work when I get home from work tonite.

Not the same. Collision detection uses impact to determine a collision had happened. Someone walking pass your car and scratching your car may not generate enough impact for the cam to detect.

This is found in the user guide of A810, which is not available in A510.

CODE
AI Motion detection
When the vehicle engine turns off, dash cam is in standby mode. When the continuously running image algorithm detects any threatening person and decides that this person should be recorded, dash cam will record parking surveillance video.

yup, understood, but this sort of surveillance will run down the battery fast tho. Or does the A810 has built in battery ?

No dashcam has big enough battery to tahan for parking mode, so it still uses car battery power.

I'm not sure whether time lapse mode is worse or motion detection. But I think motion detection should use less power as the cam doesn't save the video if it's not triggered by motion.

Imo, a parking mode macam handicapped if it cannot do motion detection, although one can argue the cam will be triggered by cars passing by, falling leaves or even insects crawling in front of the camera, giving you man6 false alarms.

For dashcam, many false alarm is better than one missed alarm. If collision happen you need to be sure that video exists. If got unneeded video not a big deal (as long as not fill the SD card).

Most of us won't check the dashcam until the collision happen, its not like the dashcam sending you notification for every detected collision right? Worst feeling is if car kena bang and then we check and dashcam missed it.

Collision detection is unlikely to give you many false alarms compared to motion detection (I wonder how smart the touted AI in A810 is when it comes to rooting out false alarms).
In fact, the weakness of collision detection is it cannot detect vandalism that doesn't trigger the g sensor. Someone scratching your car? Sorry, the cam won't record him.

Imo, unneeded videos means power wastage, which means the parking mode operating time will be cut short if the battery voltage drops faster than otherwise.

All I know is I had to turn down the sensitivity on the a510, when I exited the car and close the door it detects as collisions. and sends notifications via the apps.

Hi

I've noticed that my DDPAI N5 DUAL always trigger rear camera not working when I start my car in the afternoon.

My car is parked in non shaded spot so I suspect that the rear camera is too hot. Any workaround for this issue?

FYI I have checked the connection is all cable is connected. So far this never happened in the morning or night.

Hi all. Wanna ask. If plug and play A500s mai into fusebox but no hardwire involved just plug and play, will it void warranty? The accessories shop insisted that it will not void any warranty as theyve done it for a lot of cars before and it doesn't involve tampering any wire. Just plug to fuse box and no 24h function. If hardwired can use the 24h recording function.

Hi, wanna ask, recently just found out my old yi smart dashcam wont overwrite old recorded video anymore. It was full and last recording in year 2023.

Now I format the micro SDcard, it start recording.

Is it dashcam problem or SD card problem?
I worried if it happen again, wonder if I need to change new dashcam or just change new sd card?
