ya very unlikely they will hold ur cash for such long, if that happen you might have to find their CS already

Have been checking this the whole of last week. Up till today its still held as cash, on 36 risk with 11% in cash so theyre definitely still holding. Its been so long that my DCA auto deposit has already deposited another amount for this week..

Your portfolio value is updated daily. And of course the portfolio should grow fast enough to pay for the management fee, don't forgot the total fee is bout 1/2 of what normal unit trusts charge per year.

no bro, you can't, in that case you might as well use DIY method to invest in S&P 500, because why would you want to give them the management fee just to invest in S&P500

I saw the DIY thread, it looks like i need to hoop money to multiple parties and websites, i just want something simple and denominated in USD.

so far i think no, in Malaysia the CHEAPEST way to buy malaysia ETF should be the way proposed by alexkos in his DIY post already.

I am not sure if Malaysia Bank foreign share trading offer to US ETF investment, but certainly it is not CHEAPEST, It will cause a painful cost of each buy and sell transaction.

I was previously like you, want to find a way to just invest in S&P 500, but to no avail, I can't seem to find a cheapest yet easy way, because you can't run away from:

1) FX convertion, you need convert MYR to USD to buy US ETF
2) a Cheap broker
3) A easy yet cheap way to fund your account at broker side

So end out I chose StashAway, thou it is not 100% focusing on S&P500, but somehow it has its benefit of below which i mentioned previously:

That's the best way. Cheap way. If you don't want go through all the hoops to save caah then open IB whitelabel account and fund it directly using Malaysian banks.

Of course, keep in mind if you buy from Malaysian banks, be prepared to pay more. Higher exchange rates, higher commission, dividend fees, maintenance fees.

Of course Malaysian banks have been known to block transaction to IB. So yeah the hoops help to unblock those restrictions.
