Firstly, u need to read properly before replying - I was specifying the Asian markets.

Secondly, u cherry-pick the US index and sector that performed best. It'll be a more accurate indicator that long term investing works if at least 2/3rds of the world's major indicies return 45% in the last 5 years.

Asia's major markets obviously and generally did not perform well in the last 5 years.

AAXJ 12.9% returns since 2015 ? Your returns will be much higher if you continue DCA throughout

Anything else buddy ?
This 3 funds returns which I listed is already 50% of risk 36 holdings in SA.

AAXJ only 7% of risk 36 portfolio anyways.

Not sure if adjusting the risk to a lower setting is a wise move. Let's say we adjust fr 20 to 15, this means that we will sell some equities at a lower price, and then buy bonds at a higher price (looking at the trend the past few days). This transaction actually confirms our losses. I might be wrong though. Open for discussion.

It's no harm to take profit and move to safer allocation .

But yes, personally I would rather just open another low risk portfolio

I do have low risk portfolio. If I transfer say RM500 from the low risk profile to my higher risk portfolio, would that be a good idea? Since I have no more bullet left on me to do DCA.

Well if you look it from another perspective.

You're protecting the capital from further slopping.

If from antoehr perspective, you are depleting your chance of getting high return after rebound

If from another perspective, you are cutting your capital and buying something expensive as you said.

It would be a good idea only if you are willing to expose it to higher risk returns. Why did you put it into low risk in the first place ?

Takes a day to deposit, then to convert then only they will buy the securities. Give it a few days and you will see

If DCA every month can use the recurring deposit right, then if i want to DCA few times per week, i need deposit manually? or is there a setting for it?

Actually in the grand scheme of things, this dip in prices is nowhere near a real recession. I just checked S&P500. YTD it is still 300+ pts higher than in Jan.. Time to keep calm and keep DCA.. And hopefully there will be a resolution to the US - China talks today. The new US tariff rates on China goods already kicked in as at 12am US time today.
