QUOTE(alexkos @ Jan 2 2020, 11:16 AM) why u so panlai yes, drive the commission cost as low as possible for maximum saving. However, you can also split them if you are okay with paying 0.2% 0.3% commission (i'm not ok) semua mali ong 2020 huat ar~ hahaha, if money not enough 0.2% or 0.3% also okay la~ i see, thinking too hoot some this round, since can straight EUR to tradestation... if hoot cspx is in USD, need extra USD2 to convert fund..

QUOTE(zerolord @ Jan 2 2020, 05:44 PM) No danger for the time being - the article gives the impression that passive index accounts for 90% of the market volume, when in fact it's still the minority. Active fund managers will always seek ways to arbitrage any discount/premiums and tip the scale back to actively managed funds when they outperform passive funds. when you guys transfer money via InstaRem, does it matter if you transfer 10k in one go or transfer 5k two times?
i.e. we don't save anything by transferring 10k in one go, right? It costs the same as transferring 5k twice?

hehe, my survey has just received ethical clearance. So who wants to be my white mouse? Janji ada cute voucher to motivate you hehe
content would be on investing behavior. Requirement: currently invested passively in indexes such as SP500.
Passive investing trend is poised to take over the rest of the globe as US active funds outflow is still very alarming.

Need some help. Thanks
1) Why choose Captrader instead of Tradestation? Tradestation charges seem cheaper. Could it be Captrader has better service?
2) Captrader FAQ : Are there a monthly required turnover or account maintenance fees? In general there are no monthly minimum turnover fees or other running fees with CapTrader. Reverting monthly costs will only be charged if you have chosen Realtime packages (real-time course subscriptions).
An inactivity fee will only be charged if your total value of your account-balance is less than $ 1,000 (or equivalent) and you are not trading actively / leave your account "resting". This fee is 1 USD per calendar month according to the above criteria.
Qn: It seems that now, we have to actively trade to avoid inactive fee . So just maintaining $1-2k in cash/stock is not enough to avoid the inactivity fee. Am I correct in saying this?
3) Captrader: a) To get live quotes, we have to pay $. Anybody know how much it is? b) For non live quotes, understand that its free
4) Is there any inactivity fee in Tradestation Global/International or minimum $ amount to maintain? a) Any $ for the software or to get live quotes?

QUOTE(Zegoon681111 @ Jul 14 2019, 06:12 PM) Can I say that from the info in your 1st post, I can choose to either open a Tradestation or captrader account? If I hoot one lump sum amount (say RM10-20k), captrader is better. And if I start small, and top up bit by bit, Tradestation is better? (I understand that brokerage fee will be incurred every time I top up) Just started to do some basic reading, before I start my journey and join you all half year passed d, time to submit progress report
