Poor guy here, but working towards this direction too.

Just want to ask.. how do you actually practice DCA in this kind of investment? Because I assume every month transfer smaller amount of money is very inconvenient in this case (say around 1-2k ringgit / month), so probably will just transfer once every 6 months or even once every year.

Or sifus just accumulate wealth and only transfer when you think the index is underpriced?

Also if I have stash in captrader, do I get any growth like money market?

Thanks in advanced.
*
Ya... Need min rm18 for each subsequent investment... If not, brokerage charge will kill us.

Dca into a cash management fund first... Once hit rm18k, then execute sxr8

Yes u can buy more when index is cheaper. But jack bogle is against market timing.

Captrader Germany trading account interest very low to no existence...

Remember ya, only hoot with money u can afford to set aside for quite some time

For comparison, here are the stashaway fees:

0.8% annual fees (for amount below 50k)
0.1% for currency conversion
*
Does SA charge members annual fee of the fund they selected? Like additional 0.07% if they hoot sp500...

Just to make it clear, is it DCA consistently via instarem->any cmf in captrader, then switch to sxr8 when have ~4k euro in the cmf? In this case the DCA just to offset currency fluctuations am i right?
*
oh, make it simpler..... every month u DCA into let's say FSM cash management fund first (ringgit)...

once reach RM18k then only convert one shot gooding?

I'm using TOS, not sure if the SPY is better or this, any comments from you guys? Thanks!

SPY is around US$280, commission is $5 per transaction
*
ic....if want hoot SPY (nyse version), then use Just2Trade broker, you get some free trades (zero fee on your brokerage).

But, alex no recommend SPY, or any US domiciled SP500.

Reason? Trump will eat you 30% tax withholding on dividend. You rugi.

Join me SXR8. Eat 15% only

I can see iShares SP500 being called as IVV in my TD ameritrade account.

Is it the same thing, or this one will kena 30% withholding tax?
*
IVV fund domicile = australia = need to check whether australia and US got tax treaty or not

There's lots of ETF which track s&p500.
Only the ones listed on LSE domiciled in Ireland pay 15%. The rest pay 30%

Just notice that this SXR8 has very low volume traded.
Liquidity problem arises when u try to sell it
And Spread between sell and bid will reduce your profit.
*
currently around 240 euro.... bid ask personal experience can be as large as 0.2....

dun worry, this will track the SP500.... arbitrager and market maker will make sure it is priced competitively

and...this is long term investment

if scare rugi, can parking limit buy order =)

Is this somehow related to the late Jack Bogle's Vanguard fund?
*
Yes... Bogle punya index fund semua US domiciled.... Don't think can buy vanguard fund which is domiciled elsewhere....

So as Malaysian... To maximize return, hoot those Ireland domiciled one then ok d

15% withholding meaning we lose 15% of it or just need to wait next fiscal year to claim back?
If can claim back is it automated by the service we use, or in this case captrader?
*
yes automated....SXR8 is 'accumulating' type, meaning that when it comes to dividend distribution, it will terus reinvest in the fund, and auto pay 15% dividend tax also....

But SA help us to claim back the 30% if not mistaken.

Only hybrid convertible can't claim back...
*
Good info... If it's true then SA has an advantage here...

Avg sp500 dividend yield is around 2% p.a.

If eat 30% then 0.6% yield burn
If eat 15% then 0.3% yield burn

If no burn, wah 0.6% extra return???
