thx thx ts noted!  thumbup.gif

hi all, i'm planning my pre wed photography + honeymoon during autumn
location: kyoto + nara + maybe osaka.
bought tix for 12-20 oct. (hopefully can see full red autumn leaves during this period)

actual photography might take place during 17,18 oct

current scenery ayam thinking for the photo:
1. nara park - deer, mountain, sunset (must)
2. fushimi inari - shrine stuff (must)
3. bamboo forest - bamboo trees lol (like waste of time?)
4. sagano train
might not go alot of places due to time constraint for photographer and travelling. so limit to few "more memorable" places.

wanna ask is there any other 'hidden' location asides from the more tourist common places to take my pre-wed photo?
and any advise for taking pre-wed photo in japan.

arigato.  notworthy.gif

I don't think October can get full autumn foliage in Kyoto. Went in 2017 during end November and I was about 1 week too late. Best should be mid-Nov.
*
Yeah, torres09 is right. I went to Kyoto-Osaka from 17-26 Oct last year and only some leaves were starting to change colour. If you're going even earlier than I did, you might also just see very little autumn foliage.

The bamboo forest is unique and has its own charm. If you can somehow avoid the crowds you should go.

Not sure if those pay-to-enter temples and gardens allow you to take wedding photos inside but some of them are very beautiful.

anyone going to Suzuka circuit for F1 race this year...or anyone has been to Suzuka before?
*
Interested in replies to this question, from those who went before ... myself, KIV for near future (F1 contract renewal at least until 2021; won't see the rights reverting to Fuji Speedway anytime soon kua).

Seems like flying to Kansai airport nearer to Suzuka (Mie prefecture).
Wondering whether camping at the Suzuka Circuit Family Camp will be a nice experience, or can save a bit on accommodation or not (¥2,060 for 2-ppl tent, not yet include sleeping bag and other accessories rental).
However, weather end of September/early October kinda rainy ... hope they'll push the future calendar later into the autumn season, so that can plan nicer sightseeing itineraries (can combine with trips to Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, etc, since relatively nearby). biggrin.gif

Anyway, 2019 tickets sale not yet out.
2018 prices, cheapest were ¥14,900 at Dunlop curve (no big screen), and ¥19,100 at S Curve - Gyaku Bank (no big screen too).
Cheapest seats with big screen seemed to be ¥29,300 at S Curve - 2nd corner.

(Off-track ... this year, the F1 GP to go to, might be Shanghai GP, coz you know ... 1000th GP; 2020, the inaugural Vietnam GP. ... if only can choose one wink.gif )

Dear Sempais, , lets say one arrive at KIX aboard AA on the D7 1 flight from KL to Kix departing at 14:15 and arriving at Kix at 21:40, around what time would he be able to clear immigration?
*
how fast will depends on how fast you walk from your plane to the immigration counter. will you be going to toilet after disembarking? long queue?

QUOTE(deodorant @ Jan 25 2019, 07:21 AM)
Reporting in from Narita. Landed at 7.25, crossed immigration and customs at 7.50. Then jialat sangkut for 40mins queueing / waiting for JR pass exchange (done at 8.30)

Main JR travel Centre only opens at 8.15, in the meantime the ticket counter only got 1 person doing pass exchanges and the queue panjang gila.

That depends as I have a friend who had issue with the passport chip, withheld at immigration for almost 1 hour, came out to airport around 10.45 almost 11pm. Luckily still manage to catch last train/bus to the hotel late night.

Err ... earliest for me might only be 2021, or even beyond, depending on my budget. sad.gif

Was waiting for tips and advices from other sensei or sifus who attended F1 Japanese GP in Suzuka Circuit before.

Suzuka Circuit Hotel seems a bit expensive ... around ¥17,500 per night for 1 person room. Should have other accommodations around town, but the most convenient should be their hotel and the Suzuka Circuit Family Camp.
https://www.suzukacircuit.jp/en/experience/hotel/fee/

Kansai airport (KIX) is the usual airport travellers choose when wanna go to Osaka; ya, many airlines got direct flights from KUL, AirAsia included.

Sacwoc was right, I needed it for NEX. JR East passes are any 5 days (don't need to be consecutive) within a 14 day period so for my travel pattern it normally makes sense to use the 1st day for NEX, 2nd and 3rd days going to and back from ski resort, 4th day whichever random day I think I'll be using most JR within Tokyo, and 5th day NEX back to airport.

I attended day 13 of today's tokyo sumo grand tournament despite knowing nothing about sumo!

Thanks to a bunch of obaasans sitting behind me screaming certain wrestlers' names and giving hours of live commentary, it was a really fun experience smile.gif

2 things that I learned:

1. If you have a future visit to Japan that co-incides with a grand tournament, do see if you can set apart half a day (afternoon) to attend, it's great fun.
2. In a way I really pity the foreign wrestlers, basically almost all of them had zero support from the crowd if they were going up against a Japanese wrestler.

Anyway here's the moment from the final match of the day where Japanese wrestler Takakeisho side-swiped Yokozuna Hakuho to the ground, sending the entire arena into a frenzy of cheers.
