Hi all, I will fly to Japan next month to visit Toyama region ( Alpine Route, Matsumoto, Kamikochi ).
I purchased the 5 days JR ticket that able to take all rides in Alpine route, as well as all JR line from Nagoya -> Takayama -> Toyama -> Alpine Route -> Matsumoto -> Nagoya
But does anyone know whether the bus travel from Toyama to Alpine Route is covered or not? I haven't bought any bus ticket yet.
u can always take a train from Dentetsu Toyama Station to Tateyama station.

dont think there is any tickets left, if there is, it will be super expensive. below is our authorised reseller for our region, they only sell in packages... https://tokyo.kingdomsg.com/
Edit: just realised the English version of the suica app doesnt require any physical card. But then again, you will need Apple Pay to recharge the 1000 yen initial balance. So the only choice is to get a plastic card in Japan and transfer your credit to iPhone
For recharging, as Malaysia doesnt support Apple Pay, you can only recharge at the suica machine or any convenience store in Japan

So i must switch my region to Japan in the first place, right?
And yea, since malaysia cannot use Apple Pay, i am wondering, can i download suicaEng app and register from there? After that add it into "wallet" app
Suica Eng app is just for you to create a virtual Suica and you will need to recharge an compulsory initial amount of 1000 Yen via Apple Pay to register which Malaysia doesn't support. So the only way for us is to purchase a physical plastic card, set your phone region to Japan, open up Wallet app and transfer your credit from your plastic card to Apple Pay wallet. In my case, my Suica card is linked to Apple Pay Wallet as well as the Japanese Mobile Suica app.

1) the "region to Japan" meaning is Apple ID region or Phone region?
2) after transfer from plastic card, will changing back to malaysia region affect my usage?
3) after transfer from plastic card, the only way to top up is it through the machine? I cant top up in the phone, right?
1. Phone region via Settings. you can actually try it now, the Wallet app will ask you whether you want to add a credit card or a Suica. 2. Switching back to Malaysia doesn't affect your usage. 3. Yes, only through machine, just tap your phone at the terminal as though your phone is a card. the only way to top up within the phone is via an Apple Pay approved credit card which is not available in Malaysia unfortunately. even in the Japanese Mobile Suica app, they only accept Japanese issued credit card.
I realised there are 2 types of Suica recharge machine at train station, one is you insert a card into a slot (similar to our ATM), another is place your card on a bin/tray.

1) So the phone region is to trigger the wallet app to have "Add cards feature" since malaysia region basically do nothing - Got it
2) So switch back malaysia region means the suica will stick there until i remove it, right?
3) Owh, basically for us Malaysian is like reducing the weight of plastic card All right, let's hope before my next trip next year has some "miracle" happen (Apple Pay Malaysia launch )
Thanks for the help
yea your virtual Suica card will always be there and linked to your Apple ID, so you will be able to retrieve it back if you change your iPhone.
do note that after the transfer, your physical plastic card will not work anymore and become a piece of useless plastic.
and if you have an Apple Watch, the virtual Suica card can only exist on ONE device at a time.
