Unifi Disney hotstar... can it work on a regular android box?

It works on a regular android phone, right?

Will be good if that is possible as some boxes can deliver better PQ, AQ thru avr compared to smart androidtv.

I know the unifiplaytv apk works on regular android box, just need a mouse to navigate.

Does these Android Box has DRM support? All Android TV devices has to have Widevine/Clearkey/PlayReady L1, which allows 4K or L2, which max at 1080p decryption.

IIRC those android box don't bother to pay for DRM licensing, and so are limited to Widevine L3 (480p) max. What's the use of better PQ and AQ if they don't bother to have a proper DRM support or proper TV OS

problem is, if you are using computer, we don't know which 1 is sports1 2 or 3

no point also if those china box having good hardware if they dont have Widevine license.

mostly tv box have Android TV OS will able to play the app depending their limitation (HDR , DV)

most smartphone will have widevine license thus the app works on it.

nowdays most streaming app will have hd video encryption , u will only able play 480p to 720p in non widevine license box.

Of course, of course.... i have been using smart tv for so long that i forgot about the widevine thingy.

Still, i tried a couple of things....

Mobile phone, regular android app works fine, navigation fine. Login with just phone no.

Regular android box, the app isnt optimized for it.... poor navigation on top of pq, aq limits.

It seems to me this disney subscription allows at least 4 devices registration but limited to use of 3.

Yes, tested on tx3 mini, and regular cheap phone.

For question 20 - Tested on factory & "Day one" FW, Google account setup cannot be skipped. Pressing Back returns to WiFi/LAN setup screen


Setup process is exactly as shown, except as expected will be stuck long loading for WiFi & Google login.
For custom router users I recommend using the stock TM router to speed up initial setup and FW update, then switch back when done.

i received an email from unifi saying to upgrade to ultimate with upb, not sure is the first version or second version, and will the picture quality will be worst than the previous huawei? as the current huawei picture quality is very good compared to my current xiaomi tv stick hypptv app.

Hmm, maybe because some of you subscribed to the combo package that Unifi introduced a few years back? Mine are seperate between the internet package and Unifi TV package
