> 1x HDMI-out

IR and microSD slot are missing

"Hybrid" probably means IPTV via VLAN/normal Internet since no DVB tuners present

Haven't faced such problem. For my case if one app is down then everything is affected, so just have to check connection or reboot box.

Be reminded that only the white box will still have mosaic menu grid and pressing 3-digit channel numbers

On the hybrid box (UPB) it's all replaced with pressing up down left right to view channel categories (news, movies, kids, etc). So if you have seniors be well aware
New UI looks like this (skip to 3:44):

By the way this new box got no way to switch channel using mosaic or by pressing the number right? (since remote has no numpad)
Yes, even if you control with a numpad remote it will only respond to up/down/left/right/OK/back buttons

UPB page updated with 2.0 hybrid box, called "New unifi Plus Box". https://unifi.com.my/tv/devices/unifi-plus-box

New FAQ contains info for both UPB 1.0 and 2.0.
For question 20 - Tested on factory & "Day one" FW, Google account setup cannot be skipped. Pressing Back returns to WiFi/LAN setup screen

Setup process is exactly as shown, except as expected will be stuck long loading for WiFi & Google login.
For custom router users I recommend using the stock TM router to speed up initial setup and FW update, then switch back when done.

My post here covers tips and issues on the new box. Will update as time goes.

I think the VLAN stream is only available through the 1.0 app.

Before upgrading the firmware the 1.0 Unifi TV app (2.2.8.0) will auto logout your account when you launch it. You can disable Wi-Fi and use VLAN (IPTV STB mode) to log back in and continue watching as-is. Keep in mind there will be no Internet access so all others apps won't function and cannot update.

After upgrading VLAN won't be watchable anymore. Your account will be fully migrated and cannot log back into the 1.0 app regardless (invalid username/password).

New apps auto installed after the restart: Vidio, WeTV, Blacknut, Prime Video, Youku, YuppTV, Sun NXT. I already installed Unifi TV 2.0 (Unifi TV CL) beforehand. The 1.0 version is no longer a system app.

In terms of bugs feels like overall it is more sluggish even outside of the 2.0 launcher. Video and audio also noticeable offsync (no setting changed). My TV missing option to ignore HDR and the box setting cannot properly disable HDR.

Upgrade process received SMS around 4PM. On the same night 2.0 app still not usable. The following evening only received confirmation.

Only then HP43A box (2/32GB) finally received firmware update. Download size is 1.21 GB.

If you disable/uninstall Blacknut, Prime Video, Sun NXT, Youku apps they will auto reinstall+enable after every restart. Other preinstalled apps not affected

Is for UPB2??  after update still can install app not from play store ?

Update info for the HP43A model (v2 hybrid with blue light). I tested with the 32GB unit only. Since the December 2024 update cannot reenable dev options/USB debugging

1. With this new box, there’s no more VLAN600 so this means watching shows will now use some of my bandwidth?

Honestly I prefer the old white box, it's so much simpler and just works. I feel that unifi should have worked on their app a lot more before forcing us to upgrade.
*
Correct, but if previous forum posts are correct the streaming bandwidth should be up to 10Mbps only.

Overall the new app has long awaited QOL features, but implementation wise they bit off more than they could chew. Besides the stock ATV UI alone is very laggy even with disabled bloatware so there could be something unoptimized with the box ROM also.

Looks like another new gen box coming, model HP4BF-TM just Google certified last week.

Specs from Android TV Guide (link)
- Name "unifi TV Box (V3)", Plus omitted
- Skyworth ODM
- Amlogic S905Y5 (4 cores, ARM Cortex-A55 CPU @ 2.0 GHz, Mali-G31 MP2 GPU)
- 2 GB RAM
- Android TV 14
- Google Cast + Google Assistant support
- Netflix + Prime Video certified
- storage capacity unknown

Speculated features based on CPU, zero confirmation: Wi-Fi 6 (AX), BT 5.x, 64-bit, HDMI 2.1

Given it is using a standard Amlogic X/Y SoC that means VLAN IPTV probably is phase-out compared to the v2 model using the hybrid chip S905C1 (link).

Geekbench 5 CPU (link) reported the CPU at 1.7 GHz. There is an odd model HP40AX2 submitted last month but speculate to be based on the older S905X2 SoC (same as UPB v1).

Dear beloved TM Unifi TV staff lurker, for future next gen UPB design suggest your supervisor [re]consider Askey ODM (Asus). Their box with far weaker CPU, RAM spec compared to v1 & v2 box is so smooth, fewer bugs and 2 ATV version upgrades.

This really sucks, Unifi's so-called "Triple Play" services, has been downgraded to "Dual Play".
*
Their triple-play meaning has changed, landline VoIP replaced with Unifi Mobile. TV now sharing the same bandwidth with regular Internet with recent speculating event VLAN being heavy heartedly discontinued.

If someone still have 1 account not yet migrated to 2.0, can try installing the 1.0 app to the new firmware and confirm whether VLAN IPTV is still available?

If after update still cannot sign in to Unifi 2.0, how to downgrade back the UPB software to Unifi 1.0? Trying to help someone setup the unifi UPB.
*
It is officially impossible to downgrade. There are no firmware downloads provided by TM and OTA firmware is automatically installed after the reboot.
You should be able to reinstall the 1.0 app (version 2.2.8.0) from the Play Store and use it with the 2.0 firmware.

In the future unless you plugged the UPB to a UPS so it never restarts (and hopefully never crash) then it will receive the latest updates. Even then the Unifi TV app will likely block access until you select Yes.
