Yes I know the painter will polish to make the paint 'even' or so to speak. It shows that it is already safe to polish. After they polish they will just wax(the hardworking painters la...lazy ones after polish cabut edy) tongue.gif But most of the time when I see freshly painted cars or brand new cars(both my parents car from Auto Bavaria and my old Civic), the paint surface is full of swirl marks! Polish or not...same one shakehead.gif 100% swirl free is impossible judging by Malaysia's ultra frenly weather but I've seen a few cars coming out from auto detailers like Carnauba Autospa, their paint surface are free from swirls! If got also maybe like a few only under intense light. So my point is find someone who will do the job properly. Carnauba, Harry Bright, Imola Autospa, Auto Detailer are very very good in eliminating swirls. 2 thumbs up from me! Yes polishing will strip a BIT of the clear coat but I guess you have heard about different grades of polish rite? Dun simply assume that if polish, the paint will strip off. Relax! icon_rolleyes.gif

*
it cost RM520.

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Oct 23 2007, 04:05 PM)
Yeah, at Autospa it will also take that long with twice the number of people working on the car, from washing to treatment to polishing to washing again then waxing including seat stream cleaning and engine cleaning.

i think the time duration depend on the size of the car. i will like to try their Estate Glaze-Vintage package after i respray my car paint in the future.

as far as i know you can but i don't recommend it as the GC has cleaning properties which might remove the sealant.

Give it a wash with shampoo or (dishwash if it has heavy oil residue stuck on it), vinegar+water to remove the water spots.

After that use megs NXT glass cleaner or turtlewax also can, for the inside if u have tinted windows (dun simply use ammonia-based house window cleaner cos ur tinting will come off).

If you have streaks on the outside..chances are your wiping cloth is not 100% clean enough - got oil/wax residue on it? Newspaper is good because it is lint-free.

i have no idea i mean i wash my car washing clothes everytime after i wash my car. My car cloth is clean until i can use it as a towel to wipe face blush.gif Anyway had anyway heard the brand of Stingray they produce cloth for bluff of polish, and its said it washable. Last time i use that cloth to wash the car but now i can hardly find it. I found a lot of imitation cloth which does really absorb water. doh.gif

Hmm... I don't really experience residue on my car windows... usually after car wash + wiped dry it looks good. Perhaps you could try using a squeegee or a silicone blade to remove the water like for house windows? laugh.gif Alternately, as suggested, newspapers or car-specific window cleaners are good options too.

My windscreens and windows does get some "residue" after applying windscreen treatment though laugh.gif

never ever use those silicone blade to remove the water, there is chances that u will scratch the paint. I vinegar doesn't work ont he windscreen, try to using those washing plate paste ..not liquid. The paste is stronger, rub it around with fine steel wool and rinse off, then buff off with newspaper. i dun really like windscreen treatment as it doesn't solve the root of the problem, coz the problem of water smearing will pop up and the layer of treatment is gone.

it's quite impossible to maintain a swirl free car unless you detail it properly and frequently
out of good auto detailer surely no/minimal swirl, else how to justify the price they charge
as for new cars, the swirls are mostly due to the car washing/polishing service that the dealer did prior to delivering the car.
wrong washing and polishing method with the wrong equipment can really spoil the look

Yeah man...if black cars can really see the swirls man. Sakit hati ahaha tongue.gif I do my detailing at Imola Autospa Ampang. Till now I'm very satisfied with their service. The swirls on my car are very minimal and most of the time I think I'm the cause of the swirls cause I wipe off the bird shit myself. The swirls also ngam ngam at the spot I wipe laugh.gif
