QUOTE(egiewan @ Oct 20 2007, 07:42 PM) I tried NXT on my black car. Dun look glossy at all. For black cars I heard Carnauba wax are the best. Megs got 3 types rite? Cleaner wax, NXT and Carnauba. Sealant out of the picture la I've read that Gold Class wax is better for black cars if you want to bring out that shine. NXT is for durability and protection.Or Meguiar's is just crapping us off. |

QUOTE(Ken @ Oct 21 2007, 10:50 PM) ralf, the proper way to see a car need clay or not is put a plastic cover(from cigaretes pack example) and then tough the car paint, if u can feel 'bintik - bintik' means it need clay, else, u can feel it very smooth ... however, as long as u drive out, for sure ur car paint is polluted by dust or stuff that can't wash away by car shampoo 1 ... means clay is a must before any wax/polish *whoa* use plastic to feel the surface.. Ok, thx 4 the advice, will try to clay this Saga on this coming holiday, Christmas.. Coz the car mileage on the board is only 5.5k km only..so to save time n cost..i skip the Claying part. Goint to buy Meguiars Clay end of this month..waiting for salary Added on October 23, 2007, 11:11 am QUOTE(Yukaeshi @ Oct 22 2007, 06:34 PM) Meguiar's car wash mitt is RM 50 if I'm not mistaken. There are other brands of car wash mitts out there though, can check them out. One MG Wash Mitt for RM50 Car wash mitts are the best obviously. They may not completely prevent scratches, but it definitely can be minimised/avoided. The 2 bucket water (One for car shampoo + water and the other clean water) is also recommended I bought other brand 2 large Microfiber towel already rm4x...wanna die liao Added on October 23, 2007, 11:14 am QUOTE(kevinlim001 @ Oct 22 2007, 01:50 PM) Last time i use rm3.90 towel..it is cheap..3small towels for rm3.90..Noticed quite alot of swirl marks bcoz of that..Then decided to buy 1 small mirofiber towel for rm10(for wash only) to minimize the swirl marks..drying i use another Large piece of microfiber towel.. With the current freaky weather, it's getting very difficult to time the detailing. I took leave on Friday and Monday thinking I might want to get my full detailing done at Autospa but it was raining. Can't find 7-8 hours of the day that's not raining.

QUOTE(choiheng @ Oct 23 2007, 02:12 PM) Yeah, at Autospa it will also take that long with twice the number of people working on the car, from washing to treatment to polishing to washing again then waxing including seat stream cleaning and engine cleaning. |

Yeah... at this current weather even I can't do my DIY detailing
Polish is not the same as wax, don't be mistaken! Polish should be done every 6-8 months, but a new car shouldn't be polished (Wait at least 6 months after getting a new car) as the paint may be still "soft" and polishing will remove a layer of the paint. New cars need time for the paint to "settle in". I bought a huge microfibre cloth at ACE Hardware, it's about 40cm X 60 cm and for only... what? RM 5.xx if I remember correctly |

So no need to wait until 6 months ma polish is like sanding... the painter ll polish the car to make sure the color is even... while the paint is new and everything is perfect and shiny u polish it just to make it thinner.. yes u can make it but the more u polish the more thin paint become.. U can polish as many times as u wan actually.. for me i ll polish once i feel my car is dirty which i can clean by regular wash.. then i ll polish... a proper waxing also ll reduce the frequent of polish as the wax coat ll prevent dirt from sticky ur car... so wax regular...try to think how polish remove dirts or other paints then u ll have better understanding... just my humble opinion so correct me if i made mistakeAdded on October 23, 2007, 8:15 pm QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Oct 23 2007, 04:39 PM) RM1550 for 3 detailing package. IMHO I think the polish done after repainting/brand new paint is different. Like kevinlim said it's too make the paint even and give it a glossy finish. But if the owner polishes it too soon after getting it might strip a layer of the paint. Plus from what I heard now car paints are "thinner" or "softer" than before, so need to care properly also...
Detailing my car (special price- car club panel) takes about RM 350-RM 400... yet even I can't afford that yet sadly |

thats y a lot of ppl after polishing their cars will get it either waxed or use a sealant to tighten to bonding so this kind of crap kekek here means literally wont damage the car paint as much
