1. Startup for the first time is memang like that. After that, turning it on/off is almost instantaneous. Unless u wanna hard reset every morning!
2. The problem with the Touch is that its resources is extremely limited. With only 64mb of RAM on board, running a resource-guzzling software such as Mapking will quickly deplete ur program memory hence making it sluggish.
Compaction threading is also another culprit to slow the device down further.
3. It is a known fact that the screen of the Touch is not as sensitive as other devices. A good reason would be that since the Touch is designed to be more thumb-friendly, it will need a more durable/thicker screen.
Also, notice that the Touch's screen does not reside inside a depression on the housing like conventional PDAphones. Instead, it's level with the housing. So in case the screen is put on a surface facing down, it will be in direct contact with the surface. So a more hardy screen is feasible here as well.
PDAphones in general are complicated devices. But once u get used to a Pocket PC Phone, it's hard to go back. Haha...
