ShXt~!! i drop my Touch~!! LCD Broken. wonder how much for touch lcd replacements.
i drop my 838pro 3 time but no broken lcd(838pro is strong).
*
that's why i don't really like the Touch's LCD placement which is very fragile. this does make it easier to use since the LCD is placed on the same level as the casing (seamless design) as compared to other PDAs where the LCD is recessed about a few milimetres deep. furthermore, the Touch's slim and small design doesn't help in protecting the LCD and it even makes it easier to slip out of the hand (and drop to the ground!).

Just wanna ask all taikor.
When you buy a new HTC Touch from shop, is the box sealed with security tag unbroken?

I went to a shop today and i notice the seal is already broken but the guy told me its new. I'm just worried its a demo set or second hand selling as new. How do i check?

Please advice

Also, PC Fair around the corner. Any discount for the HTC Touch you all think?
*
Should be okay if the seal is broken, but of course you have to do some research yourself to see which parts must come in the package like cable, manual, CDs, stylus, etc.

Also, as long as you getting from a reputable PDA shop such as Fresh Gear, you should have nothing to worry about. smile.gif

PC Fair in KL is this friday to sunday. Might have some deals there, so hold your horses before buying a Touch before then. But IMHO, i don't think there'll be any offer since the Touch is still very new in the market. wink.gif

with 400mhz, mayb gps and (((( 128MB ))) memory
it's worth your every penny""
*
nah. it doesn't matter. rclxm9.gif

anything that has a built-in GPS, 400 MHz and 128mb memory will surely be EXPENSIVE. think about Dopod D810's price + RM500 or more. smile.gif

HTC Touch is always meant for the entry level PDA range at RM2099 RRP.

Try to use a proper SP. Those thick ones will make the screen unsensitive. smile.gif

Err nope , but i noe its dam cool but i wan something that is worth my money not just appearance so u mean O2 Atom Exec pawns HTC Touch in terms usage and performances ? HTC Touch is just cool but i scare i`ll drop it and break the Lcd futhermore , O2 has FM radio and faster processor .
*
Don't get the Atom. It is using Intel Xscale high-MHz processor which equals to BAD BATTERY LIFE. smile.gif

Erm can be countered with spare batterys right ?
*
Do you really want to live on the inconvenience of using spare batteries? Think about it.

Also, the OMAP processor in Touch doesn't mean that it is slower than Intel Xscale at higher MHz. Clockspeed is not everything.

Anyone unsatisfied with their HTC Touch currently ? Or is there any faulty going on ?
*
Apart from it being fragile, i don't see anyone complaining.

HTC is a well-known maker of high quality PDA phones unlike other companies like Quanta (which produces the HP 6828 and O2 Atom) and Gigabyte (maker of XDA Stealth).

as for ur info...the higher megapixels will only determine how big u can zoom into ur photos. the real thing that determines the quality of pics will be iso sensitivity, shutter speed, exposure etc.so i just wan to check the camera quality. sony ericson's 2mp camera could take nice n clear pics too!
*
the HTC Prophet is not bad even though it is using 2MP too. i believe the Touch shouldn't be that far off, although it lacks the macro-lense present in the HTC Prophet.

a pic i took recently using my HTC Prophet:

Touch or Dopod 818 Pro ?
*
how much is brand new 818 Pro nowadays at shops (for those that still sell it)? basically Touch is same specs as 818 Pro except for the TouchFLO and WM6 and slimmer form factor.

OPPS I made a mistake , my question was HTC Touch or Dopod 838 PRO not 818 , sorry guys . Please kindly answer my question i gotta make a decision tomolo THX !

So ? Dopod 838 PRO (RM2499) or HTC Touch(RM1970) !

Thx
*
at only RM2499 for 838 Pro, it is surely the better buy since the original price of 838 Pro was 3.2k IIANM.
3.2k original-RRP vs 2.1k (Touch) original RRP.
definitely the 3.2k wins. tongue.gif

why i say it's better anyway? you'll be bored with the TouchFLO after some time and the design of the 838 Pro is small too, even though not as small as Touch. and everything else, the 838 Pro wins the Touch, of course. biggrin.gif
