In the Iphone - Touch comparison argument, Touch's features beat the iphone's by FAR.
I've played with an iphone already and my favourite feature on the device is just d Youtube plugin and the screen (ZOMG! Gotta love the screen of the iphone!). Everything else so-so only. Talking about the screen, unlike the liquidy feel that one gets from a pocket pc, the iphone's screen is virtually GLASS-like-solid! And it only works with ur fingers which means no fingernails, no prodding with ur pen while alternating between a document and ur iphone, no ANYTHING OTHER THAN SKIN! Definitely not work friendly. Even the magnifying-by-stretching-fingers function which looks cool at first is not really THAT user friendly. I often ran out of finger space. Haha... And the iphone gets hot. REALLY hot. Especially when I was using wifi. For those who asked whether the iphone can support GPS, currently, there is no way it can. First of all, it doesn't come with built-in GPS. Next, it's bluetooth driver only allows for handsfree protocol. So means no serial port = no bluetooth GPS receiver support. (Btw, can't see M'sia on google maps also) To me, the iphone is more of a fashion phone whereas the Touch is more work. But still the most balanced in my books is the Dopod 900! Wahahahahahaha! |

Having being a long time PDA user from the old Palm series to MS mobile user from the old Ipaqs to the 2210s to the GPS-enabled messengers and now an iPhone user - I will have this to say.
If you have to choose between two..ask yourself if.. 1) do you REALLY use 3G? like seriously. make 5 video calls, plug in as a modem daily. DAILY. Do you even pay for the unlimited data plan? Are you on Maxis? Sure you have 3G in KL and all but once you move out of town? or you have a 3G sim card but you never make use of it except ocassional mms, light web browsing(seriously, who are we kidding, browsing web 2.0 sites on pocket pc nowadays - not saying it won't work? but the novelty of being able to surf the web on a small screen just wears off after awhile - you'll be dying of websites fitted for pdas) 2) does your life depend on all the super features of the pocketPC platforms, sure they have tons of softwares and features that the iPhone doesn't have (yet). or are you the kind of person who wants all the features now - because hey, you want the most for what you paid for right? - makes use of it once awhile then later just too lazy to use it anymore? Are you really a busy company executive that you have your appointments jam packed and they can't hire you a secretary, so you rely completely on your pocketPC? You just must have your super-duper 4-windows-multi-coloured-categorized-iconic-view of your daily/weekly/monthly schedules in the front screen? 3) Are you the tech-savvy type of person ? or you just want something that works. Because you can't be bothered to find the reset button, install a few apps to get certain things up and running, because opening a lot of programmes without add ons bogs down the OS.. which brings me to my fourth point.. 4) Are you a patient guy who loves seeing the 4-colours rainbow of the Microsoft "I-am-loading" circular icon ? or you longed for the responsiveness of long-time-ago Palm apps that just runs almost instantaneously when you tap on them? Seriously folks, I've seen the Touch? To me it kinda feels like a gimmicky version of the PocketPC, it's almost like the HTC peeps got together and said "Hey we gotta push something out the market before iPhone hits the local shores! We need to sell something like the iPhone to the masses!". No offence, it's probably the underlying OS that's the issue as well. Yes, the iPhone doesn't have 3G. It doesn't have a camera that rivals some top-end phones/pda. No it does not have a GPS(yet). There's a LOT of things it doesn't have in fact. And uploading to it is a pain with iTunes. I hate that piece of software honest to god. But what it can do, it does it amazingly well. Web surfing on the iPhone is *far* better an experience than any PDAs I have tried (including the HX4700 640x480-screen ipaqs). The usability of the interface is amazing, it's not all just a "pretty face" UI on the surface people. So I'd say.. if you only need a phone, a damn good web-browser, and a music/video player just like that of an iPod, then yes, the iPhone is great. Is it expensive ? Well yeah! Everything new is always expensive. It's only a few hundred bucks above the touch, or if you get it from US direct it could be even in the same price range, if not lower. I would say if you go for a PocketPC-based mobile if you truly need the 3G some of the phones offer, or there's a killer application on that platform you absolutely must have. And oh, I do miss the simple plug-and-upload-like-a-usb-thumbdrive capability of the PocketPC (for now anyway). Sorry this is turning into a wall of text and rant about ms mobiles phones If you have a friend who has an iPhone, go and call them out and take it for a spin. If you can get someone with a MS Mobile to go along as well.. heck bring them all along for an interesting evening! |

Once u unpack, if u see a .CAB file, just copy it into ur device and tap on it in File Explorer.
It'll install automatically. Make sure u install it on ur device n not ur storage card. |

I wouldn't flash this version |

New PDAVIET ROM v1.17.707.11G http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334631 I like this ROM coz - no more skipping during MP3+Heavy Ebook reading (Mobipocket Reader). - Nice skin - Launching applications are way much faster than the original ROM.
