Hi, i just upgrade my router from tplink ac1200 to Asus Ac86U, but my internet speed drop from 200mbps download speed (bedroom) to 9mbps download speed. I already upgrade to latest firmware, the problem still going on.

Need advise from expert.

Perhaps sHawTY may help - did you enable NAT boost or anything? (I think ASUS routers have a different name for that)

Might want to see which device are you using and which band hmm.gif

I rather pay 79 tbh..the speed difference doesn’t warrant an extra 50 every month

Yes I switched from legacy plan. Just don’t feel like paying so much for internet when there is no notable speed difference

True, 72.2Mbps is a figure to be overcome on 2.4GHz band. If u use neither 5GHz nor another AP to harvest the remaining bandwidth, the rest of the bandwidth wasted.

btw just came to my mind...my place still on copper line but Time can provide Fiber, so why Unifi cant?
Dont understand what is stopping Unifi to upgrade since Time can do it.

For high rise, the last mile infra is governed by building management insead of local council, i doubt your building management would allow another fiber network by another ISP on top of Time's. Your building management would ask TM to ride Time's infra instead. Given TM's pride and ego, u think they wud do that?

In my condo complex Maxis took over the cable trays used by the defunct intercom system. TM have their own dedicated trays. They share the MDF rooms

What's the wifi link speed from your device to the Asus? And to the AC1200?

So is it confirm become unlimited quota until further notice?

Confusing who want to subscribe TM..

First time - Publish say unlimited quota until middle of Feb
Second time revise - limit the quota 60GB/mth since it's not officially yet
Now third time revise - unlimited quota until end of the year?

Which one is the correct?

TM want you to do MCQ questions? sweat.gif

I think they realised that there was a flaw in their data plan, as in how to inform the customer how much data quota they had left and probably wanted to avoid customers angrily calling up CS to complain about their internet being slow.
And probably because it cost a lot of money to implement a widget to keep track of the data quota. They passed the problem to the laziest guy on the technical and he did a lazy job this time and kicked the can down the road. Thus an extension to the "promo" no data cap until further notice.

When they implement quite easy to just up the plan, they happy to upgrade you even if you're in contract without any penalty (more money ma).

You don't need to terminate when you upgrade package. So like last time when people were on 149, they can anytime go up to 179...

Correct, they can modify your account online remotely from their end. Believe me, it's just a few computer clicks away. I've experienced it myself.
