Anyone want to try Black Edition on a lousy mobo?

If it can go up to 3.2 with good mem timings, I'm impressed.
*
actually it is started from 3.2 sweat.gif
unless you are saying a black 5000+ , not 6400+
well.....3.2 is nothing at all.....you will see many ppl hit much more than that very very soon...hehe brows.gif

btw, what is the stock voltage for my cpu?

suppose can hit 2.8 easily at stock voltage...lower ur ram speed, then push higher... smile.gif

lets say im oredy hav 2gb ram. and if i take the money on graphic card and spend more on ram, i think it'll b more cheaper rite? since if 2x 1gb ram now oni 200+ and a 8500gt cost around 300+

tats y i wanna knw the quality of 690G graphic. biggrin.gif if its too louzy... i might change my mind on my taught above...

New PC
X2 3600+@250x9.5(2375MHz)
2x1GB DDR667
BioStar TA-690G(BIOS 605)
I tested 128/256/512 for IGP

Small review for AMD690G with CS v1.6
Small map cs_tank, fy_pool_day, fy_iceworld. "When restart round it will freeze for 1/2", this is no good. You can't counter attack.
After 10sec, the game will be smooth agian. If you manage to survive for that long.
Big map, like de_dust,de_dust2 does suffer this problem. *(If there is alot of fire from both side, yes it will freeze for 1/2 sec, So don't try to be hero" stay away from group ppl.
Smoke bomb, and de_aztech(water part) will suffer same fate, FPS will drop below 30-45fps.

AMD690G
Could be driver problem or it can't take load.

Old PC
nVidia 6200 128MB
XP1700@2000MHz
2x512MB DDR266
does not suffer 1/2sec freeze. small or big map.

btw... im planning to change my board... any nice board to recommend? somewhere around 3-450 budget. My current board only restricts me to 1.55vcore.. and my temps are pretty cool @ 1.55 too. i thought that it might be the DTS for inaccurate temps, but after using an external sensor.. my temps are still great.. 1.55v iddle @ 32c while loads up 45-50c.

the TA690G AM2 motherboard does not support CPU clock multiplier adjustments. [Link]

the AMD Athlon64 5000+'s CPU clock multiplier was first set to 8x, the Corsair Twin2X2048-6400C3 memory set to run in DDR2-533 MHz mode. These settings ensure neither the processor nor memory will limit the motherboard. [Link]

i read these articles at PCSTAT.com, can any 690G users and 7050 users clarify tis?

if a CPU multiplier cannot b change, izzit meaning that thats a limitation for overclocking???

how come too low meh?? maybe u can try to add more Vdimm (ram voltage) a bit higher...but make sure anything above 2.2v need better cooling solution...

i got that TA690G is more available for Home theater system.
cannot go high for Overclocking..

No problem...i need an insane mobo for competition and i think it is suitable one.
Tired with TF7050...it lacks of many things... Cannot use clockgen in windows..
max vdimm 2.44v only... not enough for extreme overclocking at all.
TA690G can change multiplier , i'm certainly sure about that though i haven't try it b4

What's the definition of 'good oc mobo'?
Can the super pi result below shows that TA690G is a good oc mobo?
CPU 3.25G
RAM 1082Mhz 4-4-4-5-2T
