Any way to measure the clockspeed of pci and pci-e frequency? Is clockgen reading the correct reading?

I quite worry of my hdd data because my board do not have the pci locked setting?

high HTT doesn't give anything in performance. what important is cpu clockspeed. what's the clockspeed at?

Its not just for AM2 and 939, its for all processors, Intel or AMD. I've been overclocking on socket A, 478 and AM2, and many things are just the same (not all though).
There is a myth that needs busting around here-does burning in improve overclocking? Because its common knowledge that semiconductors do not like being abused. I can understand if we stress test to check if the overclocked settings are stable, but I seriously think that getting a better overclock because you 'burned-in' the processor is just plain bullshit Even the 'thermal paste sink-in' idea doesn't hold much weight, as the temperature reduction is honestly not that much as to give another 100MHz better overclock.

err.. loading time doesn't mean anything....
aihh.. if onli AMD can beat C2D in Cinebench.... dang...

one reason why until now I am not interested to get a Brisbane....

a 3GHz Brisbane performs similar to my 2.75GHz Orleans on Pi32M.

but i thought last time u were the one who said 'here we talk about overclockability, not performance' 

still ok coz brisbane not power hunger...
i still think that.. my 3800+ windsor got good performance as well..
but if look at the vCore n temp.. make me think twice..

erm i dun think u can lower the vcore even if u found a gud hsf 
even if u used freon cooling oso u couldnt bring down
the vcore 

coz vcore is associated with bringing more performance out of the proc
meanwhile a gud hsf is to ensure the heat generated from the
high vcore used is cool down effectively 

aiya... ignore the price drop laa.... of course now proc prices are darn cheap... brisbane can get @ RM195 onli @ LYP... dang...
lucky me i bought my proc last year but at the same price as now...

but now proc is energy saving but u put a high end GC... then no different lo... still need a lot of power...

calculate it using some 'special' calculator... ehehehe
brisbane default 1.9 @ 1.25v
OCed to 3.0 @ 1.25 - 1.3
uses about 103-111 watt from ur PSU....

alreadi ask him to try 3.0 on the 1st time he got the proc.. but he said dun want.. afraid laa... ape laa... suda la...

my pc spec:
AM2 X2 3600+, Biostar TA690G (Bios R69AM605.BST), GSkill F2-6400CL4-2GBPK

Yesterday i mange to oc my X2 3600+ brisbane to 9.5x290 = 2.75GHZ with 1.35v, orthos stable for 6 hours, passed 3dmark06, OCCT and dual superpi, HTT set to 600MHZ or 3x, RAM SPEED is  below 800MHZ cause i use 533MHZ in bios...
Everything are working fine.

But today when i start my pc, it show me some weird sympton...
this msg appear in CMOS --> "warning!! your system running safe mode. please setup CPU host clock"

when i press F1 to continue, window can load but the processor speed was back to 1.9GHZ.

when i restart it and check in bios, the CPU FSB show in bios still is 290MHZ... after reboot
msg --> "warning!! your system running safe mode. please setup CPU host clock" still appear in CMOS
and when load into window, it still show 1.9GHZ and CPUZ show 200x9.5.

then i have to reset bios to default by using load optimise default;
msg --> "warning!! your system running safe mode. please setup CPU host clock" disappear from CMOS when boot; and i have to set FSB, 200, 220, 250, 270, 290 and restart for few times to get my window load at 2.75GHZ.... crazy... 

i'm not sure where was wrong.... izzit coz by bios version?
help... 

i still phailed to get my brisbane hit 3ghz barrier..

my previous Windsor require 1.475v to achieve 2.5GHz 
thus, the temperature was quite high..

Really achieving 2.5GHz so hard? To me I achieve 2.8GHz easily using that same BIOS. I don't know what went wrong

Kalakatu: Could it be bcoz of your memory's tight timing and 1T ? Mayb u can loosen it abit and then c can OC further or not.

I think kalakatu did mention that he did uses the same setting as before with 570U. Also already enable 2T mode. How bout this, try from the beginning and don't compare it with your previuos 570U. Maybe different board needs different tweaking and result

u guy all overclock brisbane core ! >.< . my 3800+ windsor core is hard to oc . i heard asus m2n-e mobo have a limit in oc . limit vmim .. bored
now waiting for new heatink . hehe . will post the latest oc result soon ..
