how's the performance for the modem Hg8145x6? is it better to change it or they are good for general usage?

the plan is to put the model in living room and mesh node at another room with LAN point available. my usage will be mostly streaming movies and light gaming

the only way to do it is via your device, be it your hp/pc/laptop/etc

better get better router like asus and set it from there

When did Time start using the V6 modem + router + mesh model? I just switched to these babies and were pleasantly surprised by their performance.

I was able to change the DNS servers on the V6 model on the standard admin console. If the V5 didn't support it then that's an improvement.

thing is with huawei router, they wont tell you whats the ram and rom spec . dunno why

for that price, I prefer Asus router

the one on V5, the column is greyed out , means u cant even click on it

also, is it better to connect LAN point to mesh or use the LAN point for pc and connect mesh via wifi?

the best , stable connection would be LAN cable no doubt about it

direct lan from router would be good to your pc/laptop/ps5 etc

there are plenty of good asus routers out there, just need to do some homework ( depends on ur needs, like size of your house , how many users, etc )

the promo plan for 500mbps really tempting but also heard downgrading the plan will be hard compare to upgrade.

You can downgrade to 100Mbps with contract reset on the 7th month.

how about the free devices? do i need to return to them?

You may login to your selfcare portal, click on Manage Plan > Change Broadband Plan

then there is more reason for me to choose 500mbps

I went for 500mbps. Never had lags anymore..

btw, if i approach agent for sign up, do i still can get the rebate?

or only applicable for online signup?
