Hi friend i subscribed Time 500mbps and upgraded to  HG8145X6. But my router is at living room but my computer and laptop at master room i.e. 2 room away, around 15m away with 3 concrete wall in between. So if I buy AX3 Pro is it sufficient to repeat it to master room to reap for full speed so i can use lan cable at master bedroom / got 5ghz wifi. Or i will need stronger mesh modem to repeat it?

Hi, if you want full speed, you will need to run a Network Cable to your master bedroom from the TIME HG8145X6 ONT.

AX3 Pro wont be able to get full 500Mbps if you repeat it... anyway you can get far more improvement if you can move the ONT to this location circled in red.

Time just upgraded my router to Huawei mesh(white), but i still keep my old TP Link router(black with 4 antenna). In future if i wishes to terminate my line, do i need to return both the Huawei mesh & TP link router? Or just either one? If just one, which one should i return? Planning to sell off the extra one.

Move the router to the corner of the living room will make a big difference...

Hi sifus, I'm moving to my new house soon and just applied 500mbps package.
Just wondering if I plan to purchase and install Deco X50 mesh myself, is it advisable / compulsory to set the default router provided by Time to bridge mode first?
And if that's the case, will the technician able to help me with the bridge mode setting during installation of the broadband?

Thanks.

Deco X50 can direct use PPPoE, since Time don't use VLAN. Just get your username and password ready.

If they provide the Huawei all in one modem wireless router, make sure they turn it to bridge mode so you can use the Deco X50 on PPPOE mode

I am in Bayan Lepas, Penang. Another user said the same...
So other areas have no speed issue.

Why create another hop in your network that would slow down the connection or cause WiFi interference?

I guess another hop is a valid point, but its probably insignificant in impact. Wifi on the TIME router can be turned off to remove interference. I dont think much impact either way.. if PPPOE done by the ISP router, can offload abit of processing from the Deco, but probably insignificant as well

Another impact would be double NAT unless you run the Deco Mesh WiFi in AP mode.

Running the Deco Mesh WiFi in AP mode would limit their mesh resource management capability as routing is done by the upstream router.

From what I seen reported on this thread, the current modem router combo provided by TIME does not allow changing basic things like the DNS server and there are many reports of random connectivity issues even on wired Ethernet as well.

Bonus, port 53 is hijacked so if you change DNS on your devices you will still be forcibly redirected to TIME DNS unless you use DNS Over HTTPS/TLS

I just bought a secondhand condo that has an exposed fibre cable into the unit. I’m going to do some renovation and conceal the cable under the tiles.
I have idea whether the fibre cable is still working. The agent I got through the management office went mia after I told him that I need someone to check the fibre cable first and I will subscribe after the reno.
Where can I get another agent that can help me on this in mont kiara area. Thanks.

Hi, covid cases are extremely high now, if it's not urgent probably we could arrange.

Thanks.
