You can use the LAN as the backhaul for your internet.
You can simply connect one end of the LAN to router and the other end of the LAN to a WIFI AP.
*
What does it mean actually? Lol, sorry not well versed with networking lingo.

You mean just get 2 of the same routers, and connected a LAN cable and one works as the main router, the other works as a 'WIFI AP' (is it a repeater?)

^ one option

option 2 is set up as mesh. but between 2 routers, you use LAN as the connection instead of WIFI backhaul.

What do you mean by WIFI backhaul?

Setup both routers as mesh using Asus's AiMesh?

Would you recommend this for 300 mbps plan?

Asus RT-AX55 (twin pack)
https://shopee.com.my/ASUS-Router-RT-AX55-A...c5-f14afbb0e08c

And follow up question:

Should I buy a slightly better router where the optic cable is, and buy a 'cheaper' router to pair with it? Does it help with the wifi strength and coverage?
Do note that I have lan access for both positions in my house.

I recommend you to get this TP-LINK-ARCHER-AX73

Noted!

So buy 2 of them would be sufficient for a 2.8k space? Is there a limit to the number of routers I can add on?

You need to pay one time fee of RM400.
And you cannot enjoy promotions without contract.

100Mbps and 500Mbps need RM99 to upgrade.
1Gbps plan by default is WiFi 6 Router.

Time has stopped offering TP-Link router on 1Gbps package and switch to Huawei HG8145X6 since early of December. Does anyone know if this is an upgrade or downgrade?

Regarding TIME offer free router for existing users to renew the contract.
Currently I'm on 500mbps plan, if I renew the contract will I still enjoy this MYR10 discount-"Because you're awesome 2018" ?
or I get on top additional MYR10 (total MYR20) ??

Hi, it is a hardware specs upgrade, the actual on-site performance still too early to tell.
We will update from time to time for any bugs or issues that may arise.

Thanks.

1.depending on the walls between the nodes

2.https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1588/

for ASUS -> ASUS ZenWiFi supports a router and up to a maximum of nine nodes for optimal performance with a wireless backhaul.

IMHO, the best setup will be 1 tri-band router+3 nodes

my experience is with 2K space. you can experiment with your setup.

You better don’t bring so much of hope on that, my place signed the agreement form with time on 2018, they finish the internal fiber cabling work in my place on aug’20, guess what? Until now we still still getting nothing, hahaha, lame services. Reported to mcmc, Time feedback will finish the project by end of December, until now I see no progress at all, end of December is another stupid excuses
