Hi, can I check. My car is pre-2016 and I have the original grant. Since this has not been updated with the introduction of VOC, can I still use it to enter Thailand ?

QUOTE(nebula87 @ Apr 2 2019, 09:23 AM) Hi TS, Hi there,I am going Hatyai next few weeks. I have few questions want to ask. Q1. I have the VOC (original) and I don't need to go to JPJ to get "Maklumat Terperinci Kenderaan and Insurans"? Q2. I need to print 2 copies of TM2 and TM3 and fill up (with normal hand writtings) before going in Hatyai right? Q3. Should I need to prepare Malaysia Insurance Extension (Endorsement 101), and also Insurance cover note? What are they for? For Q1: You have the original VOC, that's it. Dont need to go JPJ for other documents. Q2: Correct, Pint 2 copies of TM2 & TM3 because they will need to stamp immigration stamp for your arrival and departure during the trip on Thailand and the custom will collect it (arrival collect 1 piece of TM2 & TM3, departure collect 1 piece of TM2 & TM3) Q3: If you have both, you can show it to them in during arrival office for the officer there to generate the Simplified Customs Declaration Form, I call it car permit that can grant you travel into Thailand by driving your car. Insurance of course is to protect your car in case any bad thing happen to you and your car. Originally the car insurance you bought only cover you in the country of Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei je, so endorsement 101 is to extend the coverage to Thailand, but they will have some exception on your insurance side, so you need to call your insurance company and confirm about that. Thailand insurance is compulsory, just in case u happen any accident with Thailand vehicle, this insurance will cover for you, but it will not cover your car if not mistaken. |

Hi there,This is new to me, If not mistaken, border pass only can be done at immigration Malaysia for ppl who stay nearby the border of Msia-Thai. If you are not frequent traveler between Msia to Thai, I dont think u should apply that because there is a cost of RM10 to apply this and only valid for 6 months, and is troublesome for you to visit immigration office. You can refer here. So of course, in short, you need passport to go Betong (Thailand) as well it doesn't matter which state u are from. Cheers |

QUOTE(jaylim94 @ Dec 3 2018, 07:16 PM) Hi there, This will only cover own damage repairs and Theft. It won't cover Bodily Injury. This is not required by Thailand, but this is geographical coverage extension by your car insurance. Originally our car insurance only cover Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore only, the rest of the country u need to top up. For more details you can check with your insurance company. |

QUOTE(kent02 @ Jul 6 2019, 11:37 PM) Hi Jay thanks . I have a one year visa and work permit, so does it means I can drive in Thailand more than 30 days without my car 🚗 exit and re-enter Thailand again Hi there,This is new to me. I not sure if they can follow your working permit expired date to grant your car stay in Thailand that long or not. But confirm your car maximum stay is 30 days if you enter as tourist. If you need to confirm about this, you may contact Thailand embassy for more information about this. *Copy and paste from their website. Hi,
I just back from hatyai selfdrive with my mum and sister, when we enter yesterday we submit the car inbound letter (and asked officer what to do next then he say just drive in to hatyai) so we missed the counter for the simplified custom declaration form. And we came out just now we submit the car outbound letter to the immigration officer who chop the passport and she chop on that letter for me but the next counter ask for a letter so I thought it is the same letter then I told her already passed to previous officer, she asked me walk back to get it back to her. So I walked back to take back the form with 2 date chop (in and out date) but the second officer said not the outbound form and she don’t want it from me? She showed me a form which as same as the custom declaration form you posted here but I told her we don’t have, they she ask me to leave and she asked me to take back my outbound form which she don’t need. May I know will this bring me some trouble or fine if I wanna drive into Thai with my car again? |

May I know will this bring me some trouble or fine if I wanna drive into Thai with my car again? I not sure if you will get trouble on this. But if follow logic, let's say by the time u check in at Thailand, you did not let authority to generate the "car permit" custom declaration form, which means u did not import(drive) your vehicle into Thailand. The car permit is require driver signature to prove that driver and authority both party get knows about the rules and compound that need to pay if disobey. Since authority did not generate one car permit for you, and you come back here safely without any thai authority disturb You only will get fine if you already receive the car permit and not return the car permit to Thai authority. But you do not have it at first, so...... But next time please remember for that form, in case while on the road Thailand authority call u off and ask for it and you do not carrying the car permit then |
