Was wondering, going to Padang Besar side would be the same procedure?
*
Each of the CIQ will be same procedure, is just the matters of strict enforcement or not.

May i ask TM2 and TM3 form i need to print it out myself and fill up or i can get it on the spot when at the custom? Thanks. I going to Krabi and will be going through padang besar.
*
Well you can print it out TM2+TM3 beforehand, if you want fill up at thai customs there also can, they will have the form as well. smile.gif
My advise is print out all those document and fill up yourself 1st, can save your time and hassle. smile.gif

The authorize letter no need to have the commissioner of oath stamp. You can even sign on behalf lol just make sure to bring the owner's IC photocopy.

Source: From my experience traveling on June via Padang Besar to Song Khla
*
If I not mistaken, if you were going nearby they can just ignore it.
Because I going to Krabi, furthermore I will travel more than 100km to the destination, so they want it.

smile.gif

Let me tell you my real case,
that time i enter Sg. Golok Immigration, I have the authorize letter as well but without Commission of Oath(COO) Stamp, I still proceed without asking around, at the end the officer there told me I need the stamp to proceed due to far travelling, and they just let me go because that day is holiday, there is no COO working at all.

For info, the insurance that available for purchase at those border seller, is only to cover the 3rd party Thai people bodily injury in case of an accident happen and involving Thai citizen.

Their properties (if any) is not covered by the insurance sold on the border (before entering Thailand).

You need to purchase the Por lor Bor (compulsory insurance for vehicle in the Land of Smile)

For motorcar the validity is 2 weeks minimum and for motorcycle  minimum as 3 Months.
The one that they sell on border for 2 weeks, the validity is questionable if you purchase it for your motorbike.

Then you (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) to purchase the 3rd Party voluntary insurance from the Thai insurance agent or company they called it 3+ voluntary vehicle insurance.

This insurance to cover the damage caused for the Thai Citizen properties (Car/Motorcycle/Lembu and so forth)  and you can only purchased in one year duration.

Example

They will give you a print out that need to stick into your windshields and clearly mention the car registration number validity of the insurance (one year) and the issuing agent.  (Some Thai police roadblock will ask for this especially in northern Thailand after BKK)

Thanks for the information smile.gif

i've been in and out from diff  immigration checkpoint, either via bike or car, convoy or solo, all these place allows copy geran (and diff  vehicle owner with authorize letter and copy ic) except sg kolok. this place is  the only place  that usually got problem
its because of the violence and bombing over there, their rules can be different at times. at one time i can just go with just a copy of my geran.
at one time, i cant, must have original, and i can see so many people have to turn back,.

but then hor, if you got money then eveything can settle.
*
Ah ya that's make sense now, because of the chaos happen on southern Thailand, they might be strict on those document.
I haven try on others custom borders before, maybe I should try it next time smile.gif

That time I didnt give kopi duit lah, their officer just smile smile and tell me next time must have stamp ah. mega_shok.gif

How to get the certified true copy of voc? Need to bring a copy to certified or can print at any Jpj?
*
Hi there,

If you are force to use photocopy of reg card, you can go to jpj there ask them to certify your photostat copy, of course you need to prepare the photostat copy yourself.

Well if you want to save your hassle, just request the original copy from your loan representative bank. They will give you back if your installment is well payment and no late payment.

Hi There. just wondering.

Optional :
1. Malaysia Insurance Extension, they call it Endorsement 101.

Is this a must?
*
Hi there,

This is not required by Thailand, but this is geographical coverage extension by your car insurance.
Originally our car insurance only cover Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore only, the rest of the country u need to top up.
For more details you can check with your insurance company.

*
Well you can go back the bank and request the original car geran.
For my opinion, This is less hassle than you get the JPJ certify true copy. smile.gif

Hi there,

thanks for the appreciate.

The last time i enter Singapore from Tuas quite straight forward, they just need you to have valid road Tax(take photo with your phone and show them for Ez Link purchase) and purchase their Ez link(if your car is 1st time visit), then you are good to go. smile.gif

Thanks for sharing. Can anyone share experience in terms of car and petrol? I heard things like Gasohol not suitable for our car. Is it true?
*
Hi there,

like myself that time driving Proton Saga FLX 2011, before I go I had ask proton about the fuel. But they still ask me to refer manual as I already know that manual state that minimum fuel requirement is RON95.

and that time I fuel up at Hatyai (RM4.93 per Litre for Caltex Gold 95) and Trang (RM5.12 per Litre for Caltex Gold 95)

my point is, I dont want any trouble regarding car when the car is not at your own territory. Unless you pretty confident your car can survive with that gasohol brows.gif

Hi all

Just wondering if I don't have the original car grant and the photocopied one is not endorsed by any officials is there any possibility of going through the border? I am going over this Sunday.

Please advise.

Thanks.
*
To be safe, I must say is better you gather all the document requires.
Maybe some borders they can just give u pass if you going somewhere near the border <Dont take this serious, I did not try before>

Hi guys if I managed to get original grant from bank, do I need letter of authorization from the bank to authorize me to bring the car into Thailand?
*
Hi there,

letter of authorization is needed when the car owner is not with you in the journey.

Example,

Case 1:
Car owner is A, driver is B, Passenger in the car is A, B, C, D, and E
No letter of authorize require.

Case 2:
Car owner is A, driver is B, Passenger in the car is B, C, D, and E
Letter of authorization is require.

Problem is my grant is under public bank name lol. They said after I settled loan only can change the name on the grant... so I’ll likely need letter of authorization
*
you mean u are paying the loan to public bank rite? actually you as a car owner can request back the car geran from them. They will give back you the original geran.

QUOTE(nebula87 @ Apr 2 2019, 09:23 AM)
Hi TS,

I am going Hatyai next few weeks. I have few questions want to ask.

Q1. I have the VOC (original) and I don't need to go to JPJ to get "Maklumat Terperinci Kenderaan and Insurans"?

Q2. I need to print 2 copies of TM2 and TM3 and fill up (with normal hand writtings) before going in Hatyai right?

Q3. Should I need to prepare Malaysia Insurance Extension (Endorsement 101), and also Insurance cover note? What are they for?
*
Hi there,

For

Q1: You have the original VOC, that's it. Dont need to go JPJ for other documents.

Q2: Correct, Pint 2 copies of TM2 & TM3 because they will need to stamp immigration stamp for your arrival and departure during the trip on Thailand and the custom will collect it (arrival collect 1 piece of TM2 & TM3, departure collect 1 piece of TM2 & TM3)

Q3: If you have both, you can show it to them in during arrival office for the officer there to generate the Simplified Customs Declaration Form, I call it car permit that can grant you travel into Thailand by driving your car.
Insurance of course is to protect your car in case any bad thing happen to you and your car. Originally the car insurance you bought only cover you in the country of Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei je, so endorsement 101 is to extend the coverage to Thailand, but they will have some exception on your insurance side, so you need to call your insurance company and confirm about that.
Thailand insurance is compulsory, just in case u happen any accident with Thailand vehicle, this insurance will cover for you, but it will not cover your car if not mistaken.

jaylim94 Thank for the info .

One question on the car insurance,  Can use Malaysia Insurance Extension to replace Thailand insurance?  Or  Thailand insurance is a compulsory thing ?

Thank you .
*
Hi,

Thailand insurance is compulsory yo (to protect Thailand driver on the main point).

Msia Insurance is optional je, because is protect you, Thailand side dont care sweat.gif . But if you get one, and you not sure what will cover, please ask your agent/give a call to your insurance company. smile.gif

Hi, anyone know if I'm Perakian, do I need to bring passport to go Betong? Or can I apply for border pass?
*
Hi there,

This is new to me, If not mistaken, border pass only can be done at immigration Malaysia for ppl who stay nearby the border of Msia-Thai.
If you are not frequent traveler between Msia to Thai, I dont think u should apply that because there is a cost of RM10 to apply this and only valid for 6 months, and is troublesome for you to visit immigration office.

You can refer here.

So of course, in short, you need passport to go Betong (Thailand) as well it doesn't matter which state u are from. smile.gif

Cheers
