May I know the make and model of the Ethernet cable? (CAT5e cable)  hmm.gif
Also, if possible, provide a product link of the cable hmm.gif

All you need to do is to write the text printed on the cable itself icon_idea.gif

Might be an issue of copper-clad aluminum (CCA) Ethernet hmm.gif
The make and model of your BTU (modem) and the router also helps too icon_idea.gif

Sorry for the post, I left out checking cable from BTU to my router. My bad notworthy.gif

Able to get ~280mbps on 5ghz wifi, then I suspect they haven help me change plan to 100mbps.

Will check with them tomorrow again.

280Mbps on 5GHz is quite good icon_idea.gif

The only problem is that the cable you used (CAT5e) may be bottlenecking your wired setup due to its copper-clad aluminum design. It's important to get a high quality CAT6 cable (with pure copper) like what SilentVampire recommended in the first page icon_idea.gif

Yesterday I tested the speed on 4x Unifi 800Mbps account (all at the same building but different floors)
I use UGREEN USB3 to gigabit ethernet adapter (link here on lazada) since my laptop only comes with fast ethernet.
the relevant laptop specs;
i5 4210
8GB ddr3l ram
240gb ssd

Router used, yes for all 4 accounts
Draytek Vigor 2130n (it's a product released in 2010 or so)

Cable used to test on my laptop: Unitek CAT6 20m

However on all 4 accounts, the max speed that I could get was around 720Mbps
I'm wondering if this is due to using the ugreen adapter, or the dated Vigor 2130n or just the line being not stable since it's the so called pilot phase
I notice during each speedtests it would hit past 500Mbps quickly before slowing a bit.
Had to try a few times to get that max figure, but the speed never dipped below 500Mbps.
Unfortunately for now I have no other device to test with  sweat.gif

or could it be the cable being too long?  hmm.gif

Looks like router limitation. See here. Max routing speed is around 700Mbps.
https://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wi...howall=&start=3

The USB3-Gigabit adaptor should be OK, maybe a little bit of effect on speed. I'm using the cheapest one I found on Shopee with my MacBook Pro.
Speeds I can get are:

mbpr:~ $ iperf3 -c 10.0.1.80 -R -i 4 -t 30

Reverse mode, remote host 10.0.1.80 is sending

Yup, just replaced with a Cat 6 cable, slightly improved to ~315mbps on 5Ghz wifi.

My story of requesting upgrade to 800mbps:
My bill is out and it is RM219 per month with no discount like some member here mentioned.

Called 100, select other inquiry, select unifi.
Ask CS why my bill is RM219 and 100Mbps is now RM129 only.
He said can transfer me to billing as he is technical.
I asked him if he can put an Turbo upgrade request for me, he said can.
Realized it is so fast downloading iOS 12, check and upgraded 10pm just now

EDIT: Add speedtest

Blue glow is a bonus.

On a 300Mbps connection everything seems so fast, not to say 500 or 800Mbps. Downloaded an entire .ipsw file in just a minute on a wired connection.

I buy with discount voucher at RM282, last few weeks I heard promo at RM260+. You can survey in shopee or lazada.

On 300mbps package, on my house 2nd floor wifi 5ghz is around 200-280mbps. Close range around 310mbps. Consider not bad for me. rclxms.gif

How about 2.4ghz line? the maximum you can get for 2.4ghz? Price not bad, It is cheaper than Asus router that support 300+ speed on wifi.
