Honestly, in the beginning, i will brush whenever after meal. Soon, i just gargle.
Now, i dont brush anymore. I have a mirror, toothpicks with me and korek the food out from being visible only....

*Don't laugh...i know it sounded disgusting...

When i go out makan with friends, i will sometimes stuff my finger in my mouth to adjust the dental wax or my tongue will glide my teeth and etc... I know its not a very pleasant sight to look at. But i do it in the washroom, or bend down under the table and all la... Try not to let ppl see. Other than that, actually my friends and family all use to it and people around me understand my action. So they will tolerate me also.

To be honest, if u need to brush in the office. Its totally alright. Afterall, its good manner to brush after u eat. Rather than having food stuck at ur teeth right or not? I'm sure your colleagues would understand. Dont worry my dear, its not weird or strange at all. I'm sure they rather u using the toilet to brush teeth than seeing food stuck at ur teeth.

In my ex-company, some account managers also practice to brush teeth after lunch. Cos these are the people to represent the company to see clients. So they have to hav a good image. They even floss in the office ok?

Does all above makes you feel better? Dont worry la my dear. Every time after makan, u just bring out ur mirror to check ur smile. If u see food stuck in between teeth, just quickly go washroom and gargle to get rid of it first. Toothpicks are very useful. So have it with you. Then only go back office to brush lo. Other than that, avoid Fried rice and chilli stuffs lo... smile.gif Hope these helps

Hello!

Anyone heard of an orthodontist putting the braces on 1st before extracting teeth?
I need 4 teeth extracted for braces, but my orthodontist told me to put the braces on first and extractions later.
So, anyone heard of this idea b4?
Thanks!

Hie...welcome to our group! brows.gif

After i've installed my braces it took almost 1 week for me to adapt it, first week only can take soft food, like porridge, potato, soft noodle, macaroni etc... and after tat I can eat like normal d...juz tat the front teeth has no strength to bite, thus have to chop into small pieces then use the teeth behind to chew.. Maybe ur nasi goreng cooked too hard? But I had pizza after one week putting on braces hehehe..but hv to chew slowly la.. tongue.gif

Why hv to eat like pengantin? Izit ur teeth stil pain? If pain then u better take soft food first, then slowly only try to eat harder one.. Trust me, sooner u will used to it so dun worry too much k? smile.gif

I think u can buy at ur clinic or i think phramacies is selling..i saw they're selling interdental kit but not too sure bout toothbrush cos i normally buy it when i visit my doc...cos cheaper ma hehe..

Yah, i agree with you that not many pharmacies are selling the ortho brush. Fortunately, the Guardian in Desa Sri Hartamas got. So, i just buy from there as its near to my work place. When i buy, i will stock up a few la. Cos we destroys the brush very easily, plus its not easy to find it everywhere...

Btw, just wanna share this, for those who are looking for the mini bristle (to clean in between brackets and teeth), u can get it from Daiso at the curve. RM5 for a pack of 4 or 5 bristles. Check it out. Cos if u get from watson's or guardian, it will be damn expensive...

Is it really cheaper to get the brush from the clinic? I'm not sure. I only got my first set from the clinic. Then after that, i bought from outside. I bought mine for RM7++ for my ortho brush. What about you?

hi, i went for my first orthodontic appointment today to quote for the price for Damon 3. The doctor charges 6.5k for a duration of 2-3 years. And i was told that i may need to extract 4 teeth (2 upper and 2 lower) and also one of my wisdom teeth. I'm quite skeptical as no one has mentioned about having to extract so many teeth. Btw, my case is not very serious, so i don't know if she's doing the right thing. Is the price a bit too high? Like white tulip said, hers was only 6.5 for In-ovation C. Please advise. Thanks.

Mine was 6k for InOvation C from Dr. How. Since you have doubt for your current orthodontist, why not consult another doctor? I have to extract 4 teeth also even with InOvation C. Cos Dr says i have too many teeth for my small gum. So have to extract few to push everything in.

Hi there,
Its not necessary to get them. But honestly, using only normal manual brush wont be enuff. Initially, i was a bit lazy to use these mini brush (interdental brush) also. But i realise, normal brushes cant reach some area due to the brackets and wire blocking. So these mini brush will be useful. Its like those brush where people use to clean milk bottle. It can reach some area that other brushes cant. But these mini brushes are very small.

It can reach the hidden area to clean out dirt and also to prevent plague from forming.
See attached picture to see how it works..

Mine is Damon 3MX, cost me RM5.6k only at Bangsar How's Orthodontics & Dental Surgery.

6.5k can get transparent type (eg. InOvation C) like what Teddy using now. So, i feel like the Dr already over charge you. Why not consult other doctor to get more quote?

As per mentioned on my previous thread, you may consider below as guidance to install braces:

1) Are you looking for less pain, highest efficiency ? yes - Damon 3MX (~5.8k or less) / Damon Q (Latest, prices unknown)

2) Are you looking for less pain, high efficiency, with transparent ? yes - InOvation C (~6.5k)

3) If above Q1 and Q2 is no, then you are looking for transditional type which is painful, take more than 2.5 years & above to complete with average result. prices ~2k can get.

4) Is the orthodontist having high experience in this field ?

5) Is the orthodontist certified from the well known Uni, also certified by the product company?

Hope help. smile.gif
