Anyone can recommend me a cheap orthodontist specialize in Damon 3? P.J/K.L area....

Your dr told you that it's same as GAC In-Ovation and from the same manufacturer, but named Tomy for Japan market? So basically he meant that it is GAC In-Ovation braces? Are you wearing a clear one? Made from plastic? No metal clips or ties whatsoever?

rm9500 is very expensive leh. how long have you had it on? got pain ar? any extractions?

so everytime when you visit the ortho monthly, what does he do? change wire?

what is your ortho's name?

I just want to make sure i find one system that will be most comfortable for me and also the ortho has to be very gentle, kind and patient.

royalmongrel, you need to get few quote from different orthodontst after they review on your teeth situation. As everyone's teeth situation is different, their prices will different. If you looking for clear braces, it will even expensive for another 1~2K. Anyhow, Damon is look a lot better and smaller compare to tranditional braces.

I won't say my orthodontist is cheaper (as i am not fully check with other orthodontist to compare prices with same damon system) but his prices is reasonable and can negotiate sometime. Some people get >6k at BU area. Mine is 5.6K

i will be going to see Dr How at his Maluri Branch later today. I called the clinic at the nurse told me to go over for consultation.

I have actually started my orthodontic treatment in Perak. But it's conventional braces which will take me about 3 years to complete the treatment. The dentist asked me to wear a removable "stop bite" to open my mouth as I have deep bite also (bottom teeth biting lelangit) and with front teeth going outward. I have put this for almost 6 months. and the dentist said I have to extract 4 teeths. total treatment around 3.5k (include xray, molds, braces, extraction...)

it's dam cheap compared to damon 3 but I wish not to have my teeth extracted.

I hope I will have good news from Dr. How. Although the nurse said it's 5.6k but it's much shorter treatment period. 12-14 months...

I will see how it goes after consultation... but need pay a refundable RM50 consultation fee (refundable only if you do treatment there...)

I GUESS ours is the Damon3mx-Strength......coz we are not using the clear one.....so how is the screw thingy??...have u put it yet??...does it hurt?..

hiya..student also can put braces already consider good la.. i have to wait till i working and earn $ for my own to put braces.. So, I am consider very old to putting braces.. ha ha.. But I never regret, as i already step forward..

Does it hurt ah.. during putting in, Dr will inject the pain killer (not sure i called it correct or not..i am poor on english) then only put in screw. so, no feeling at all.. once have pain feel, u just signal to Dr. he will inject one more then no feeling anymore.

After one hour, the pain will come. So, after putting screw, take one pill of pain killer immediately. Rest at home on the bed, try to relax and sleep possible. If still pain, use a cool wet small towel wrap with ice and cool down your pain area on your chin. repeat it for 5 ~10min then use the cool wet towel cover your mouth and chin. You will feel the pain release a lot.. close your eye and cool down, so that the blood will not blood fast in your body and give u pain signal..

After wake up in 3 hours, feel ok lo.. The next day (today), i didn't feel anything la.. Just one of screw cause a ulcer lioa..


This is my experiences la.. I tell myself, it is worth.. can shorthen 6 months treament after install 4 screws for my case..keke..so, tahan saja..

this is freaking me out... u put all 4 screws already???...or slowly 1 by one??..jorr....so scare la...duno what is he going to do to me on Saturday.......so in short does it hurt or not???...macam sakit and tak sakit je...lucky monday is a public holiday......so can rest longer...hahaha...

Yeah, went to see dr. How last night at Maluri. My appointment was at 9.15PM but waited till 10PM. Missed Uber cup on starsport... :-(

Well, Dr. How just did a quick check for me, in less than 2 minutes and said although my teeth are nicely aligned but I have too many teeth yet my mouth is small. I have very bad rabbit teeth and when I smile can see the gum. No matter I am taking conventional treatment or Innovation or Daemon 3, I will still need to extract 4 teeth. Uchhhh…

Although Daemon 3 is faster and less pain than conventional orthodontic. But the main objective is to have good end result which make Daemon 3/ innovation more expensive.

If I would go for the treatment it’s RM5600 for Daemon 3 and RM5400 for innovation.

X-ray and mold RM200, extraction will be around RM140 with RM35 each.

And because of my gum issue, I will need to have two screws to screw up my teeth and that will cost another RM700 with RM350 each.

It will cost me RM 6640 for total which is more than double of my initial treatment in Perak. Although just a very short conversation with Dr. How but he’s really a nice dentist. Give very good explanation compared to my dentist in Perak.

I am in the dilemma to decide to take Daemon at How’s Orthodontic or continue my conventional treatment in Perak.

I will go to Perak this weekend and see if the dentist will do anything to my teeth or not. If he said I will still need to wear the bite stop I would probably transfer to How’s Orthodontic. I cannot wait too long d as I am also old now…

Just my personal comment:

First, perak or KL is convenient to you? As you require to visit doctor almost every month, to check or to change the string to more thicker.

Second, your expectation on the result. High ? Average? or just looking better than current only? Then you will know which system you looking for - Tranditional or new system

Third, your budget. How much you can afford to pay on first time and monthly installment.

talking about the gum issue...sounded like mine..he says mine very "gummy" as in shows a lot of gum when i smile...so mine also have to extract 4 freaking teeth and insert 2 screws....argh~@@!@@...

I just wanna ask, if my upper teeth is like kinda jutting out and I wanna do Damon 3, will it be necessary for me to extract my teeth? The thought of having to extract have been pulling me back from doing braces for years.

Well, if your gum too small, no matter what system, it also require to extract teeth. The old tradition system is 100% extract teeth and normally is 4 teeths. With new system like Damon 3, you may not need to extract teeth. Still you require to condult by Damon certified orthodontics, to see your condition.

The injection just like Ant bite for 2 sec, after that no feel la.. No worry ya..

Lolz either way I just hope my gum's not too small so I dont have to extract =P If can avoid then good la.. if not then no choice edi

The name of the clinic is PJ Orthodontic Specialist Clinic (Pang). Appreciate if you can share your experiences with any of them. Tx.

i think the box thing is available in countries like the US or higher end clinics lah. FYI i got the picture off the Internet. more fancy = more expensive, so just mix and match your band colours!

wahhhhhhh....just came back from Dr How...put braces at my lower teeth already...and now he "thicken" the bite stop and he adv that eating will be very TOUGH for me...sure la...i cant even bite at all now...so "thick" the bite stop...argh.h....make me so hungry....damn...and then how...first time i visited him, he ask me how i know about his clinic and i told him i saw it in a forum...this forum...and today he ask me again...whether i know KEN or not...bwahhaha...coz he say other patient also mention about this forum and mention about ken...i didnt mention ken but he ask me about ken and ask me what is his full name...i say i duno leh....wei KENtCP...i think you very famous already...in his clinic......aww man...i seriously cant talk properly...no one seems to understand what am i talking...argh...the braces is not pain but the bite stop is seriously annoying and irritating...argh!!!...ppl wanna ajak me makan also i cannot join coz cant eat...so kesian...

the rule of thumb is no hard food, especially "liat" kind of food.. that 1 memang susah to chew... sometimes (especially eat kangkung that time!) also I have to cut it manually before putting it in my mouth..... and cut it into small small pieces before putting it in ur mouth....

Opss.. ha ha.. now, you understand why i keep asking green_apple how to eat while with bite stop.. really upset hor.. cannot chew the food, cannot join friend to eat.. Nowaday, i just eat porridge, with steam fish and vege cut in very small pieces, so that everything can shallow without chew.

Ya.. really can't talk properly.. like ppl have BIG tongue.. so, i talk less nowday.. another reason is, talk too much or smile, caused my screw scratch the lips till ulcer.
