hi all, i just went to dr how few hours ago..i think 10pm..put the braces on my   gigi bawah.now very pain oh..some more hor..i so gatal, go eat mi kari(right opposite dr how clinic's entry)..then hor,,one behind bracket come off.now d wire keep cucuk me,,make me dun dare eat anything sticky le..tomolo dr how not wrking, i guess, i'll go there to cut off d wire.then wait next tues lo..

Moral of d story: Dun eat food(especially hot) after put d braces..coz d glue need time to stick it strongly..

haha..just sharing
*
i dun think so just limited to hot foods loh... I usually eat before my appointment... especially if got bonding 1... coz a few times already my bracket came off if I eat after appointment...

Dr. How changed my lower string to thicker 1 again... then the next two days really can see the difference leh! more aligned! memang worth the pain..... icon_rolleyes.gif

dear sorry for the late reply,
hmmm its quite costly, i've asked the doc for the braces brand, its equivalent to GAC Innovation and from the same manufacturer but named Tomy(for Japan market) and cost rm9500, normally you have to pay 40% after the bonding (excluding extraction, moulding, xray, scaling), and rm250 for the monthly treatment. Maybe its cheaper at other clinic, i'm not sure but mine done at DentalPro Bangsar but the ortho only available on Tuesday. This would be helpful for all the bracesian:

1.GUM Travel tootbrush - cost about rm15++ at JJ farmacy One Utama
2.Dentiste toothpaste - try this and you will like the feeling (no bad saliva odour in the morning if you brush b4 sleep)
3.PERROT Intradental brush - some pharmacy sold this, come with many
4.Oral-B ORTHO brush - this one maybe cost about RM7.50
5.Oral-B SuperFloss - for those who like to floss

I need some opinions, gals. I have been having these 'vampire teeth' since little. Went for a consultation once, and the ortho dentist told me it's because my jaw is too small to fit all my teeth. I used to think that it doesn't look nice, but more and more friends are advising me against getting braces. They think the teeth looks cute on me. What do u gals think?

sure, look cute all you want at the age 15 - 18 maybe. and if you land yourself in a nice company when you're older, and you reveal those molars to your clients, your first impression to the client will be what? 'this girl is so kawaii?'. i don't think so. go and get it done! biggrin.gif first impressions matters throughout life, you can't stay 'cute' forever. you'll eventually grow out of it somehow.

I had these so called 'vampire teeth' too even I went for ortho since my doctor said that these teeth cannot be pull off, I wondered why. For me, there are my unique teeth, we have to be confident on ourselves!
When the time I removed my braces, my teeth were straighten with my 'vampire teeth' and I think there are nice. Now, I can smile happily with my mouth open. hehe.. biggrin.gif
Also, I've lost weights after I wore braces because it is kinda pain until I cannot eat much food.
This is because I only can swallow soft food like tau fu and porriage. sad.gif
From my experience, wearing braces gave me two benefits for having a good smile and lose weight! rclxms.gif
I'm satisfied with my results even though it is a painful experience for me.

ooo metal is cheaper than clear bracket, n i think the GACInovation bracket is smaller compared to damon, but they work the same, self-ligating so no painful ligature attached to it. n normally people opt for clear/ceramic braces for aesthetic reason.

the floss come with the end stif threader, try it out http://www.oralb.com/us/products/product.a...&pid=superfloss

pierrot intradental normally cost rm25, but watson also hv this type of intradental brush but pierrot seems better...dont know-lah never tried watson brand b4....

i've heard that most dentists dont do such coz i wasnt their orthodontic patient from the beginning... unsure.gif

anyone can help? icon_question.gif

err... nothing in particular, though I admit during the first few months really cannot eat much, just swallow without really chewing...

maybe Dr. put a very thick bite stop for you...

the rule of thumb is no hard food, especially "liat" kind of food.. that 1 memang susah to chew... sometimes (especially eat kangkung that time!) also I have to cut it manually before putting it in my mouth..... and cut it into small small pieces before putting it in ur mouth....

just found out this thread.. i am wearing braces for almost 4 months now.

my pain threshold is quite high, so it is not so painful on me. and i lost some pound after wearing braces, my friends said my face become slimmer.hehe..

but i am so regret to wear it so late, at the age of 22.i wish i have done it earlier. luckily i am wearing it for 1 year and 6 months, so i won't have the braces with me after i graduate and work.

Thanks, Green_Apple

By the way, Damon 3 system is mostly no need to extract (compare to trandition type), unless too serious..
