Anyhow, this is the details of a few payments by some of the forummers.

Hi there, im using the Damon 3 braces and my ortho is Dr.Jagjit Singh.
Cost me RM 7000 including retainer.
No extraction needed for my case.
The Damon 3 system normally doesn't involve extractions unless ur teeth condition is real bad.
this system causes less pain and treatment time shortened by 6mths..hope this helps =)

These are for the braces ONLY. Accessories (brush, dental wax, orthodontics brush, etc.) are charged separately, UNLESS stated.

now got more advanced braces. it is called damon 3. no need to pluck 4 teeth anymore. just wear it at it is cos its self adjust and less treatment time compare to traditional braces. no more tightening every month laaa haha

so far there's only 1 dental that i know who does this. it's Q-Care dental in taman tun.

i went for the appointment already to wear this. it costs around 6k. but actually im more interested in invisalign but i dont think its available here yet. totally invisible and people cant even notice ure wearing one. its transparent bracket where u can remove while eating!!!
*
My dentist also suggested me this one. What the heck...can pay instalment somemore.. I think I'm gonna go for it la... no need to extract my precious teeth ma....hehehe

It's suppose to work faster rite?? rolleyes.gif

smile.gif i just got my braces at how's orthodontic. i go for ''Clippy-C''-invisible one. My condition: One of my front tooth
45degree senget  outward. Dr said this Clippy-C is the advanced version of Damon3. Less pain & faster result.
doctor put the braces on the upper side first.(he said put the lower side on next month)

the 5th day, the wire come out from the last bracket on my upper left side. I left it like that for 2days, then I make appointment to the doctor to fix it.
For my surprise, the wire of my front teeth did not move, even though the wire behind lose and out of the last bracket..
I think this is what they call it ''self-ligating'? sweat.gif
Actually i'm wondering what different between 'self-ligating' with normal one? I don't really understand the idea.
can someone clear me out? icon_question.gif  i asked my doctor, but he said that it's not 'automatic adjusting/tightening'.. doh.gif

For invisible or visible bracket, its depend on ppl on preferences la..but, i did not regret take the invisible one, coz, ppl hardly can see the i wear braces(especially when take photo icon_rolleyes.gif ,in certain distance..not very close-up la)..and the bracket is smaller thumbup.gif ..so,its more easily to get used to it and close mouth(i face d difficulties to talk and close mouth in the 1st week)
sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
that's all.just sharing smile.gif

Hey, I also went there today.. for my 2nd visits appointment.. Didn't see you tongue.gif

Today, Dr. put a "bite stop" behind my front teeth. Now, my back teeth can't touch each other when close my mouth.. I have to find a way to from today onwards.. Going to thiner and thiner.. sweat.gif

today is 3rd month.. i can see my teeth is move slightly in..if press the teeth, it can move a bit  tongue.gif

"Damon passive self-ligating brackets allow freedom of movement and thus faster results with gentler forces(less painful)."
                                                            vs
"Elastic ligatures create friction and binding and require more force (painful) and more-frequent adjustments."

http://www.ormco.com/index/damon-thesystem...iveselfligation

I remember the Dr put the bite stop before.. chewing was hard.. but I still manage to eat a few days later.. coz I ganas... hehehe...

nowadays if I goyang my teeth using my fingers, it will goyang lah... I guess it's normal...

Hello. I'm interested to get brace within this year as I've been longing to do it since young. Coz my teeth is not in a good order sad.gif
I've received lots of different feedbacks from my friends, some said not pain some said pain until cannot eat. Well,I do understand that there are pain but i just wanted to know how pain is the level of pain. Unbearable till cannot sleep at night? Cannot even move the jaw? shocking.gif
All feedbacks are welcome. Thanks notworthy.gif
*
Well... different ppl got different tolerence to pain... and... different type of braces got different level of pain too.. tongue.gif but one thing is sure.. there's gonna be pain... but not so extreme until cannot sleep la I think.. the pain might be a bit disturbing and annoying but dun think so it's THAT painful unsure.gif ....but the first week might be a bit pain la.. coz ur teeth wanna adjust to the braces mah...

the cause of pain might be from the braces itself....
other than that will be the ulcers loh....

in other words.. no pain no gain! whistling.gif

but after all those pain.. when u see ur teeth all well aligned.. WAH! worth it.... rclxm9.gif

next thusday will go to Lang Tengah for 4D3N trips.. i don't know how to settle my meal sad.gif

you ganas still can eat, i believe the gap between upper and lower teeth is quite near ba.. my case is not..

I was so ganas until the dentist gave up on putting the bite stop anymore.... shakehead.gif

I think my hunger mendorong me to be so ganas... hmm.gif

but i understand... when he put the bite stop last time also very hard for me to chew leh.. coz ur upper jaw and lower one like cannot bite together rite...they dun even in contact! but what to do??? eat porridge loh.... blink.gif

Hmm..understood. But putting on braces means put it on both up and down? I saw got a friend of mine, she said the dentist tighten her upper teeth 1st then later on only do the lower part. It is to lessen the pain doing that way? Before doing braces, the dentist will pluck out some of your teeth right? It is the last teeth, the bigger ones? Coz recently I have 2 new grown teeth at the last corner there, senget ones sad.gif How to cabut oh..painful>.< And how much do u paid at the 1st sessions? Pay in 1 go or pay it everytime u visited the dentist? Thank you for the helping tips,at least i know rclxms.gif

1) erm... as far as I know need to put it both up and down...
2)as far as the tightening upper first, then only the lower 1... I think it's basically depend on the dentist.. but I'll rather have both sekaligus... pain sekali faster finish...
3) if extraction is needed, it depends loh... but most of my friends all also took out the wisdom tooth, the big ones at the back, but last time when I consu;lt the dentist, if I decided to take other braces type (non damon 3) he say extract the tooth that next to our gigi taring... 2 up 2 down...

about the payment.. as for me : (Damon 3)

1) X-RAY + moulding = dunno how much dy.. I think RM300 ++
2) Confirm want to have braces : RM750
3) Before putting on the brackets (they call it bonding process) : another RM750
4) Monthly instalment : RM310

anyway, I think it's the best if u just go consult the dentist lah... whether to extract or not... or put braces on upper teeth only or adjust alternately... u can ask him / her... they know best... coz it's their profession ma... we here can give semangat only.... thumbup.gif

erm.. as for me, I not yet experience wayar putus lar (touch wood), but there are a few times my bracket came off... it came off when I brush my teeth (the dentist say I quite rough tongue.gif ) and another time it happened after I woke up, coz the lower bracket was in contact with the upper 1...Another 1 was when I tried to get something out (in between the gap) then it came off... blink.gif

oh, yeah, the first few days after the bonding process, the "glue" (or the cement?? hmm.gif ) not that hard yet, so you have to be extra cautious...

when you brush, brush slowly, but make sure you get through all the parts... especially the ones at the back...then after brushing, check your mouth throughly, see got any food stuck some more or not... then use the small small brush to brush in between the brackets... that's what I do lah...

dun worry... lama-lama you know the technique 1.... whistling.gif

about the porridge, I remember the first 2-3 days I ate porridge loh, then I complained very sien to my mom then she cooked koey teow sup for me... icon_rolleyes.gif

until now, sometimes after bite hard things, I will feel slight pain de woh... but today, I tried to eat a big burger and succeeded! YESSS! rclxm9.gif
