Should be ok, if following old rule. But for me, RM25 and 10k TP are equivalent.
Credit Cards Maybankard 2 Gold & Platinum Cards V20, 5% M2 Amex on weekend spending (NOT ALL)

With the SST kicks back in, is it still good to keep these 2 cards?
TP value decrease.. made me damn sad I have to pay RM100 for the SST (because i have supp-card) Thinking of cancel this and just keep a normal single card |

I need to go back and read a few posts to understand your "TP value..." statement, but just like you...I'm in the same boat; with supplementary cards. And my wife doesn't even use the cards because she can't redeem anything. Plus...started to think about FCB and PETRONAS Platinum (non-islamic) cards. |

And my wife doesn't even use the cards because she can't redeem anything. Refer to TP catalogue, you may redeem RM100 voucher with 57,500 TPSupplementary cancellation on the horizon for me; me thinks. Plus...started to think about FCB and PETRONAS Platinum (non-islamic) cards. When you use Amex (x5 TP), you get slightly less than 1 cent with every RM1 spent (0.87%, dropped from 1.08% previously). It is slightly better if you redeem on the spot - 500TP for RM1 = 1% with Amex (dropped from 1.25% before 1-July 2018). In another way, 1TP is worth approx 0.2 cents. To redeem SST with 10,000 TP, you use 10k x 0.2c = RM20 to offset RM25 SST. Hence, redeeming SST is RM5 better. However, if you are into Airmiles, average calculation for business class redemption is approx 3-5% (or more). Provided you can gain enough TP for airmiles redemption before expiry, this is way better option. |

Service tax RM50 didn't stop people like me taking up the cards at that time. |

If we pay the card service tax as a part of our statement balance, we need to pay RM 25.00 per card, with cash. However, we only need to redeem 10000 Treatspoints (equivalent to RM 20.00), to pay for card service tax for each card, and we get to enjoy RM 5.00 indirect discount on card service tax. So, it is more worthwhile to pay the card service tax, with our Treatspoints. This post has been edited by kart: Sep 2 2018, 08:54 AM |

Maybank cards offer discount on Lazada, Shopee, dining places, air tickets etc. So RM75 cost per year (3 Maybank cards) to keep the benefits still a good investment. |

QUOTE(ming86 @ May 30 2018, 07:23 AM) My experient is no, wouldn't get cash back, but you will get cash back for the installment amount if the installement (statement date) is fall on weekend some month. just sharing my recent purchase.went senq, bought a new laptop using amex @ 25 Aug (Sat). converted directly to maybank 6mth installment (without additional fee). maybank terminal. printed mbb receipt showing installment amount + last month amount. today, ZERO cashback received for Amex (was expecting full RM50) TP-wise, if i counted correctly, 1X TP credited few days after purchase. i guess the remaining 4X TP after statement generated (?), which is this weekend. 1st installment falls on this weekend. will monitor on 2 Oct if my Amex gets cashback for the installment amount that falls on weekend |
