the drawback of using PCT (type r piston) on b16a heads is knocking (premature combustion)..BUT of course it can be counter using E manage and such...all in all TUNING is the key....

modding, tuning without any idea or guidance.. engine BOOM -----> very costly laugh.gif

yup, need to tune the inigtion map. either retard or advance it. sometimes its better to tune on road rather than dyno cos u will get the actual engine performance.

cahill,
agreed on (on the road tuning) as we can feel the difference real time compared to dyno, and the best part is you are the one driving it.

nevertheless, the term no replacement for displacement shud also be kept in mind...or there will be more money spent and less performance gain....

Added on July 4, 2007, 5:05 pmmoon,

hahah...same here...another ek with twin loop exhaust pass by, my alarm will go off...what to do...cant help it when u want total protection...sincerely i do believe captor is good in protecting your car...however, it is not 2 way like viper or kingdragon and such....

i believe the best will be captor plus 2 way alarm....

sigh...i still remember even with immobilizer and all....this freakin mat rempit or mat whatever still manage to scratch my paints...farker..

*

if i'm going to tune my heavily modded b16a later...i don't want to use those aftermarket ECU or such...just remap the stock ECU...and then no need to hide those aftermarket ones..hehe brows.gif

hi guys,

my honda frens told me we are getting the FD type R soon, but expected price would be 200K for a start...kinda high eh? at that time we will be facing a dilemma between the rex, evos and hondas...sigh..this needs and wants is killing me...arrrghh..
*
FD Type-R? Start from Rm200k?? shocking.gif

QUOTE(egiewan @ Jul 4 2007, 02:39 PM)
Hahaha...only true Hondarians will but the Type R FD. For that kinda money I would get a Subaru mannnnn tongue.gif  tongue.gif

honda is for those die hard NA fan. scooby evo are too common, i still prefer s2000 & dc5. Even the spec in paper look inferior to those turbo cars, but when in track then its a different stories  rclxms.gif
*
Well said. All the Type-R are not losing to any Turbo-car on track. cool2.gif

QUOTE(egiewan @ Jul 4 2007, 03:05 PM)
Yeah laaa...but how often you hit the tracks also? Hahahaha....I'm talking about a practical and powerful car. DC5 and S2000 are my favourites too but my heart is still with a turbo-powered car rclxm9.gif It's like this la...put it simple, you buy the FD but in your heart you still dream of getting a Skyline GTR. Am I right? Oh damn...a GTR aint practical at all! Kekekeke tongue.gif
*
Try this: Impreza stuck in jam while you watch the fuel needle. whistling.gif Some people look for power, some people look for spirit (from the car). For sure there are always power-hunter, just like football glory hunter, whoever won the league, they support that team. Same as car I guess. Certain brand got powerful car, you go for that. So try to get a M5 then only we talk. whistling.gif

QUOTE(moon* @ Jul 4 2007, 03:42 PM)
ehehe.. i have 2 car in my mind now.

1 NA, 1 Turbo

na = ek9

turbo = impreza v8.

i have always fancy an AWD vehicle.

but for now.. i love my ek9 , if future gonna keep it a NA monster.. most likely wacking in a b18cr biggrin.gif
*
Yours is EK9 meh? whistling.gif

remap the stock ecu not be enough, need to customise for each set up. best would be hondata.
