Online = mode of transaction. Utilities = the registered MCC of the merchant/terminal.

these 2 are not mutually-exclusive. both can exist at the same time, e.g. MyTNB Portal/App which carries Utilities MCC but also Online mode. Pay at TNB counter using cc is also using Utilities MCC (for the terminal) but definitely not Online mode.

PBB VS/QMC with Online category is associated to the Online mode of transaction, but not to specific MCC, which means it covers a wide range of online portals/ecommerce sites. Refer Post #4 for reported/tested sites.

as such, pay over the counter is very obvious not online.

if lets say the statement date falls on 20th, and i use the VS for online purchase on the same date, the entitle CB is for Sept or Oct ** ?

Very very likely the next statement cycle (October) although some rare cases have same posting and transaction date.

So I just received Quantum, and then while I was doing weekly exercise... I charged to QV but using QM's 3 digit code and still can send SMS to me :S... BP don't check for this?

May i know credit to boost is qualify to get cb compgn?

What type of exercise that charges to QV? I thought people don't exercise that way - as in, they exercise to QM.

Is it showing up under your Authorised Charges ? If it's not, would be interesting to see what happens next. E.g. free money from Tony, or gets reverted later.

I don't think it's BP that does the 3 digit CVV2 validation. It should be the gateway that processes your card, for example, migs.mastercard.com.au.

Boost App's Merchant category is under Direct Marketing, Please refer to T&C - #13.

Boost App top up is a Direct Debit transaction, not online so no normal CB for PB VS or QM.

u will get the tac regardless, but transaction will fail as cvv does not match. in the unlikely event of transaction going through, u need to report to bnm for security issues

Last week, I top up using "QMC" (QV's number but QM's CVV/CVC) as I already top up RM660 using VS for week 1 (8 times) and week 2 (3 times). So remaining 5 times was using the QV's card number but QM's CVV/CVC... and the money went through.

Then this week when I top up, cause since the QM already have 5 transaction last week, then this week I need swap to QV... to gain the VIP points as 10 transaction = RM600 = RM30 cash back liao. Then only I realized I have been using wrong card but money still go through when I key in wrong CVV/CVC ._.

To be safe. May be u need to do the top up replacement fast in case the earlier top up kena rejected or not count. Then you got the risk of not getting the cb. Or i could be wrong. Everything is fine even though it is wrong cvv. If that is the case. We dont have to bother to remember what cvv of the card anymore....

Last week's transaction went through despite wrong CVV, and in PBe I could see the amount... (can't check statement cause I haven't linked to my PBe, need to visit branch).

This morning I also unintentionally entered wrong PBVS CVV for BP topups and still able to receive TAC and successfully topup (amount reflected in BP balance). Is there any risk of these transactions being voided later?

what is the purpose of cvv since wrong numbers also can proceed transaction.

this is a security flaw which shouldn't happen. if i'm you i'll make a complain to PB because your cards are not secure anymore. Not sure if for everybody or only for you.
