Exactly, if you asked for billing correction / rebate, TM tends to "reflect the correct amount" after 3 months. In the mean time, "please pay the extra bill to avoid disconnection, it will be refunded into your TM account after 3 months" ranting.gif  Farkkkkk!!!

Can we file this type of complain to SKMM? hmm.gif

It's really unfair to consumer to pay extra and what if TM did not reimburse after 3 months? doh.gif

No idea, but billing tends to fall under KPDNKK
Internet Service quality = SKMM

Billing can also complain to MCMC since it's under telco. Else we cannot even complain about UniFi package with MCMC right? laugh.gif

30 to 100 is an upgrade, and of course contract renew.
*
QUOTE(wilson1stop @ Sep 16 2018, 11:06 AM)
So far, only 2 reported the fees was imposed, but not happened to me...
and according to their FAQ, upgrade is depend on speed but not price.

So assuming you still 30Mbps but upgrading to 100Mbps, it's called Upgrade and didn't charging any fees.
(But previously downgrade might imposed RM200, new FAQ didn't mention any charges since got 2 year renewal like you said)

QUOTE(kino318 @ Sep 16 2018, 11:06 AM)
Yes. I was told no penalty even though u r under contract.
U can also switch to RM79 30mbps with 60G quota without penalty.
but contract will be refreshed with another 2 years.

Thk

QUOTE(voncrane @ Sep 16 2018, 11:07 AM)
Don't need to look at price.. Look at speed plan only.. From 30 - 100Mbps is an upgrade.. So no penalties, just contract refresh. Though, if lucky you can ask for no contract refresh.. See if they agree.. Probably won't.

Thanks for the reply guys. I really hope they didnt add additional rm200 into my bill.

Im still wondering why my 30mbps still not supporting stream. It is not enough yet? Is 100mbps enough to support streaming or iptv?

Streaming on 30Mbps is sufficient. Test using iflix, netflix & youtube. Pirated source not reliable

You can call to TM and choose option 3 (provision team) and get them check on your account, their working hour will resume on next Tuesday since Monday is public holiday.

Live chat normally cant do much, dealing with them multiple times on my issue. doh.gif

As for 30mbps, definitely decent for streaming and iptv, but if you afford more go for 100mbps or wait for 300mbps if your package entitled for turbo.

Hi guys, I have read the guides in the first page. It says in order to fully utilise TURBO , you need to have a suitable BTU (modem??)

I received my upgrade on Friday evening, from 50mbps to 500mbps. However I am only getting 280mbps max by using LAN and 130ish Mbps on WiFi 5ghz.

My router is a ASUS RTAC55UHP (AC1200) , so by right i should be able to get the max speed if not something close. I am using CAT6 cable , but the cable from modem to Router is CAT 5e (nevertheless it's still sufficient to support based on unifi page). Therefore I am suspecting that my modem needs an upgrade.

The modem that i am using is I-240-GP not I-240-G (Silver) , you may refer to the picture below. Does that mean I have to change the modem? If yes, would I be able to request a change from TM for free? Just asking here before I call TM.

Thanks !

Your BTU supports gigabit. Otherwise, you won’t be able to hit 280Mbps on LAN, or won’t be able to reach 130Mbps on Wifi. Read the 1st post again, and get a new router that will be able to support 500Mbps. Buy a better one.

I alrdy got my turbo this morning, order modify shows completed at 9.34am. I'm at 500mbps

Using asus ac86ui , 2bar 5ghz at my upstairs desktop, archer t9e WiFi card gets me 300-320mbps. Speed test on note 9 also gets me around the same range.

Weirdly on lan, using my gaming laptop I get 100mbps only. Will try again later

No changes in billing, no discount rm10

Replace the CAT5e to new cable CAT6 and test again, if still same most likely your router reached bottleneck or under pilot phase.

I had a friend who bought a six antenna tplink WDR7400
from taobao which was only released for the China market and asked me to configure it to replace his crappy trashcan unifi router at his house.

Turns out the this router's  firmware had no option to change the native Chinese language web interface so by translating whole pages of the UI using Google translate I found no support for vlan tagging which made this router unusable for unified.

My friend was lured by the six antennas and fast wifi specs coupled with a sub rm200.00 price tag.

So make sure that you check the specs carefully before you pull the trigger on these Chinese market routers.
*
You can use any router with out VLAN support for Unifi / Maxis. Just add a Manage Switch between the BTU and the router to split the VLAN traffic to different LAN Port. You can follow this site: https://www.blacktubi.com/guide/make-any-ro...-work-on-unifi/

RJ45 is the technical term for Ethernet. Cat 7 should be more than enough, and it could be a setting on your router or PC that is limiting the speed.
