Hmmm, for some reason I now am unable to reach 500mbps... now averaging about 350mbps. Using AC68U and was able to get 500mbps previously... dry.gif

I believe they have it since the start of turbo exercise. But their sms is quite delayed tho. Received mine 4 days after successful turbo telling to restart btu and router LOL. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Regarding the router list at the first page, is there a consensus on which model perform the best for it's price? (300Mbps) Or at least the brand? Too many choices to consider.

Also, quote my last question which still unanswered:

Just to confirm, all the routers suggested on first page support VLAN tagging right?

The speeds aren’t stable at all, I’ve never once achieved 800Mbps from dl. The weirdest thing is I can’t get 800Mbps through TM Speedtest, but TIME, Webe can..

Between 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 and 9.9.9.9 which is better DNS? will it help in the speed on top of turbo speed?
*
1.1.1.1 is better for privacy, but lots of sites still use 1.1.1.1 for their internal access purpose and you could have problems accessing these sort of sites. 9.9.9.9 could be slower. I would recommend 8.8.8.8 for now. You could try the DNS Benchmark program and see which is fastest for you.

My gf unifi speed was 10MB and her stock router was the old and lousy L7-N-R2000 which indicates that her unifi was the first generation of VIP10. Changed the plan to 30MB on August and the unifi doesn't even bother to come to her house to change the BTU and router. Her new bill is now at RM139 and that blood-sucking TM renewed her contract for another 2 years which will end in August 2020. That wasn't a problem for us as I'm able to change the stock to market router like Asus and we tend to use the line for years but my main concern is the turbo speed upgrade. Will she entitle for the turbo speed upgrade as well? TM released a new basic plan for 30MB speed at RM79. It will be extremely ridiculous if she doesn't entitle for the turbo upgrade yet paying an extra of RM60 for the same speed of 30MB.
*
She could be eligible, if her place is FTTH. The new basic plan has a limit of 60GB. If she is not eligible for the turbo speed upgrade, it would be better for her to upgrade to the 100Mbps plan for RM129, and save some money and get a good speed for less.

Cloudflare dns 1.1.1.1 better than google dns 8.8.8.8. My speed test after changing from google to cloudflare dns was 6ms to 2ms.

Read above for my reply.

Yes, all routers on 1st page support VLAN tagging, and support Unifi mode. You can either pick the Asus RT-AC1300UHP or the TP-Link Archer C7 v5 or v4.

i'm really surprised to see that you even bothered to register and ask in a forum
instead of calling 100 or LiveChat or even walk in into a TM Point and give a goddamn query.

btw, regarding your question - as long as that unifi of hers is a FTTH (i guess so, since started with VIP),
it's entitled for turbo.

please don't start asking when? because - at the moment, nobody knows when, it's like winning a lottery.
for Phase 1, it should be up to December 2018 while Phase 2 like mine it's by June 2019.
heck, it's not even a guarantee by TM that it's going to be solved by June 2019 anyway.

you can walk up the nearest TM Point and demand for RM79 30Mbps if you want.
whether you're going to get it or not, it's up to the blood-sucking (sic) TM.

9.9.9.9 is Quad9 DNS. It provides the same functions as OpenDNS.

possibility? yes.

should you put high hopes for it? no.

after 7 years of being a streamyx slave, i've learnt to put low expectations on TM.
it helps.
