It is okay, but firmware is not that good. If you want to ensure you can readily support the turbo speed upgrade and want something decent, go for the TP-Link Archer C7 v4 at least.

Alright. Thanks for the recommendations.

You’re among the unfortunate ones sad.gif

Here, most of us pay between 169 to 199 for 100Mbps, though there are few paying only 149.

If you’re not on any contract, just apply a new one with a cheaper deal.
*
True. Prefer getting a price cut than the upgrade :/

QUOTE(KaizokuLuffy @ Aug 18 2018, 09:21 AM)
inclusive any unifi TV package ? There variety of package out there given by TM. Some get even lower than usual price but with higher internet speed. This is so " double standard" as always do by TM.

I'm currently on UniFi Advance 30Mbps (Bonanza Campaign)-Jumbo Lite Packe + STD 20 =RM 159
*
Advance 50Mbps + Aneka (RM30) + STD 20 = RM249. Mahal doh...

There is 2.4 and 5GHz on the Innatech, but that is a real bad router which is old, and I would change it, if I were you.

Between the RG4400 and the DIR-850L, which one is better?
Both also got Gigabit LAN ports and WiFi speed can reach 780Mbps on 5Ghz.

I would opt for RG4400. DIR850L is really a trashcan for me. But yet the worst TM router I have ever used is the Archer C1200.

Haha, I only recommend the router I think is the best for price and stability. Thank you for trusting my recommendation. Hope you got the v4.

RG4400. But, I would recommend you switch to the Archer C7 v4, if you want something more stable, and that can support 800Mbps on 5GHz.

Can’t agree more. I have lost the DIR850L, and the C1200 v1 is just horrible. V3, which is the newest one in the market, is okay.

Nowadays people focus on down stream over upstream. Unless you working in advertising media and fashion line, highly rely on upload. Theoretically to say, 100 mbps per household is more than enough.
I bet the deployment for FTTH, eyes on Central, not countryside. This is why they are confident for the turbo upgrade.

Actually if you were to compare to England, our internet speed and infrastructure is improving. Their end each household getting inconsistent dl and ul , subject to peak hours and promised on certain speed range. The only telco that offered fully fibre optic services is HyperOptic in London. Rest of the place is prove to a nightmare.

As far as I know from a friend who work in Singapore as network engineering. He told me their PON network output to per building is 26gbps per ISP.
- Singtel owned their personal infrastructure
- Starhub and MyRepublic sharing fibre infrastructure
- M1 owned their personal infrastructure

- Assume if there are 50 units in a building, equivalent to said everybody get 500 mbps for 1Gbps signed up. I haven't take into account for those who signed up 10 Gbps and 2 Gbps yet. Can you imagine, how the speed looks like, if everyone using wired connection

Now we can tell, whatever Telco advertised speed is not what we getting. We being con by them for ages  bangwall.gif , under the sales agreement. There are no guarantee speed set for peak hours. Anyone have insider information, on how they set the QOS

are u trying to say telco is cheating on u? letsay with the 800Mbps speed, do u expect u can download file 1G in 2s?

DIR-850L wireless signal is poor, I got it free from TM upon TQ Surprise last year, then sold it in Mudah for RM200 😆

Lol. It is true that you can get 800Mbps on DIR-850L, and if your house is standard size, or a condo, it is good. But, if you have a slightly bigger house, or want better 5GHz coverage, forget it. He can get full 800Mbps on DIR-850L as his house is probably smaller, or he have a wired connection. Otherwise, forget it.

Superb range? Not at all. At most, it is normal. Try the TP-Link C3150 v2, or Asus RT-AC86U. Both of that has the proper superb range.

Yes I'm well aware of all those factors just stating my experience and so far I have good experience with the DIR-850L.

Erm, assuming your 1G means GB. 800Mbps is not 800MB/s.

Btw its '800 Megabits' not 800 MegaBytes which equals to 100 MegaBytes..So for a 1GB file should take around 10sec 😁

Lol friend, it has nothing to do with being rich or not, just trying to inform you. And I have the TP Link C3150, but not the Asus RT-AC86U, and the reason I know about the premium routers are that I read reviews and other people’s opinions of it.

RM249 for that !!! better go to TM Point ask them if they can give you some discount. Another way is remove the STD 20, save money on that

My experience with the 850L, coverage is okay la, most spots in the house can still get some signal, but speed is doh.gif
Stability is the main problem, streaming stutter, youtube buffering slow sometimes and etc sad.gif
I've only tried testing wifi-sweetspot app on my phone standing beside the router, maximum throughput is around 450Mbps on 5GHz. just my 2cents.
