If no leak in few days time, i recommend send to flush, and fill it with 50% coolant + 50% distilled water (can use battery water or air suling in supermarket), or those premixed coolant. Most mechanic use tap water because they worried if there's leak then your coolant wasted already.

Using pure coolant will reduce the boiling point of your radiator content to that of alcohol, means that your water pump will work harder to remove specified heat from engine, compared to those 50/50 coolant-water mix. Something like that.

On the side note actually pure water works well for Malaysian weather also. But we need the rust inhibition function of coolant.

I like this information, very crystal clear and make sense rclxms.gif

correction.

proton owners manual suggest change at 120k KM
outside mech and owners suggest change at 80k KM.

why change at 80K,?because 80K mileage calculate not include idling.
we always calculate mileage without consider idling time.

167k mileage, depends on his last timing belt change.
if first change is 80k, already due 7k,
if first change at 90 or 100k, not due yet.

ya, agree with u.

My first change was on 90k++km nod.gif

I just checked the fuse layout plan inside the box, every each of the number there is none for cigarette port to my understanding. Will check again.

Got, are you looking at the fuse box at driver side, behind the front bonnet puller, near the throttle pedal area? I dislikes it's location tho...

Lol  biggrin.gif  I get my engine oil very cheap.. And my car is at 200k mileage now.
I bulk buy a dozen Bosch Oil filters for RM68.50 from lazada last time. On top of that I get my engine oil from paulhew in Shoppee. He sells Castrol Edge quite cheap, with coupons and free shipping it only cost RM110+ a bottle.

I only drive like 16-20k km a year on average now and per day driving time will be around 2-2.5 hours due to traffic jam. I noticed that my engine torque and acceleration affected a lot after I started getting stucked in traffic jam. Previously i was working in Cyberjaya and to travel from Bukit Jalil to Cyber is by highway and rarely have jam. Hence this is why i started changing engine oil before due time (you are supposed to change engine oil every 6 mths anyway) and my engine power sort of restored a lot.

To be honest there are a lot more to engine oil than just the dirt level from an engine oil blot. Engine oil contains friction modifier, detergent, viscosity modifier etc etc which wears out over time from heat and usage. A clear engine oil doesnt show the amount of wear and tear to your engine internals. I used to extend my engine oil service life quite frequently last time when I was a student. my Semi Syn oil would last for 12k km, Fully Syn stretch to 15k km. But the darkness of the oil at each service change scares me.  tongue.gif

My rule of thumb is, if u feel a major difference in performance after every engine oil service change, you should bring forward your oil change. The extra drag in your engine waste fuel anyways and will just offset the savings you had extending your oil change duration.

Hi how was your purchase with shopee Paulhew? They are selling authentic engine oil?

Just solved the water leaking into cabin issue. Foreman pluck out the old bitumen glue on the weather plastic sheet inside the door and replaced with new one.

My car also like that. Mostly fan belt worn out. But it's not some big problem that. Mechanic's advice was if i can tahan the noise, i can wait until it scream all the time then only replace it if i want.

how much does a fan belt cost? I think quite cheap only right. Do anyone here experience rattling sound from front doors? Its something inside. Mostly when the weather is cooler like in the morning there is sound. Hot afternoon no sound.

Yeah it's not really expensive... But mine is suspect it was damaged quite prematurely because of my belt tensioner. Zordaq replaced mine with stronger CFE's tensioner for better durability, as persona one lost their tensile strength quite fast comparing to tensioner of other car.

But this is just my speculation la..

On the rattling sound probably you can check if you want to fix weather membrane in future. Totally no idea which part of the mechanism caused that...
