Hi guys,

Currently I'm driving 1st gen Persona
My current XM2 is dying soon. I'm looking for replacement. I'm quite an aggressive cornering/fast driver. I'm looking for something better like ps3 but this tyre doesn't have my size. Any other recommendation?
*
What size do you use, I have tried Potenza Re002, Re003 and now using Conti MC6. All of these tyres have good grip for cornering, IMHO just the Potenza is noisy.

Better try Super circuit by H-Performance at Sunway, quite expensive but maybe a better choice.

Early last year I was quoted about RM3.8k for full exhaust system from extractor until tail pipes. You can ask them via FB messenger.

If no leak in few days time, i recommend send to flush, and fill it with 50% coolant + 50% distilled water (can use battery water or air suling in supermarket), or those premixed coolant. Most mechanic use tap water because they worried if there's leak then your coolant wasted already.

Using pure coolant will reduce the boiling point of your radiator content to that of alcohol, means that your water pump will work harder to remove specified heat from engine, compared to those 50/50 coolant-water mix. Something like that.

On the side note actually pure water works well for Malaysian weather also. But we need the rust inhibition function of coolant.

I like this information, very crystal clear and make sense rclxms.gif

starter problem ?

I agreed, maybe you should check the starter. Previously i have the same problem as well, suspected my battery and after further checking on the starter and alternator it actually the starter fault.

First time change the starter

Can i get some help just like powerwoot above,

1) Where to buy front lights ( brand new ) and the round lights at front bumper
2) Sport rims - (it comes with plastic cover now) I want 5 spoke stainless steel vossen type rims
3) Engine mounting - (proton glenmarie said they only have bottom pce only, the left and right no more selling )
4) HU - what is the best android Hu you guys are using - and where to buy the bracket
5) Raytech cs series quote today rm1200 front windscreen 85% heat rejection and rest 75% or (is cannycool ok for half the price?)

6) where do you guys buy spare parts for persona in subang or usj

First time posting. Thank you very mucchie thumbup.gif
p/s - pls tell me the 2009 persona is relatively problem free... whistling.gif
*
I would suggest you made an improvement to your engine drivability first

1) Check whether you need to do top overhaul which this can be done at either Proton SC (price on the high side) or Zordaq (at Subang area)
2) Replace engine mountings (EA Autoworks, Puncak Jalil or Zordaq)
3) Replace IAFM
4) Headlights and foglamps, Proton original and third party also can (the third party have many designs to choose from, can look for it at Lazada)

My humble opinion based on 9 years ownership hehe biggrin.gif

Guys, when come to absorber is that any different for original proton and Kyb, & etc?

Change timing belt at Proton SC today, they inform my front absorber leaking. They told me proton original is the best, but then the problem is they want to change all 4 for me, even rear is no problem. They quoted me 4 absorbers, 4 Springs & those front lower arm, link and etc all in 1.8k. I was shocked!

Can i delay changing my leaking absorber? When i drive daily didn't feel any different, only have some sound over the bump and that should lower arm sound.
*
Change all my absorbers due to leaking at EA Autoworks in 2019. They quote me 1.5k for IMP Comfort absorbers. It felt like standard and still going strong.

Hi all, just now on the way back from work, i noticed my car temp go up until almost to the max during idle/stuck at traffic jam and traffic light.
But when the car moves, it dropped back to the normal level (centre) almost immediately.
Then when the car stopped again at traffic light, the meter goes up slowly and drop down again when moving.

Stopped the car, open bonnet, see no leak whatsoever, no smoke/burn smell, the fan was spinning.
Last CNY, already changed to new water pump + timing belt set, which also change the coolant.

Was the problem related to termostat or others?  hmm.gif Also the car is 15 years old.
*
I also faced the same problem like this before, then I ask my mechanic to really check all the piping and it seem that it has some cracked on it and also check the fins on the radiator. Change both with new parts and fill only coolant, now it is working as usual without over heating issue.

Just changed engine mounting, this is my 3rd time, aircond flushing and now the aircond super cool even at the lowest setting.

Planning to re-tint around end of Oct
