btw, just clock 221k last Saturday and did lube service and Proton Servis Jenaris and I did ask them to inspect my drive shaft, suspension and low arms and to my knowledge all need to repair and replace.

U can actually get silicon cam seals.. Cheap and good.. Mine so far so good, never leak after 3 years.
Recommend for u to use 40 oil at least.. I tried 30 a few times before, especially when my engine was new and realised my shims were making a lot of noise.
So far among the tons of oil I have used, Castrol Edge/Magnatec, Mobil 1 Formula M, Mobil 1 Gold, Liqui Moly are the ones highly recommended.

saw its leaking from the host..my damage was quite severe..i hv to changed the power steering motor as well..last month change compressor, this month power steering pump..after this need to replace the belt tensioner..haish too much edi..

9 yrs edi and clocked 340k km lol..

just want to share. i only changed the coolant together with timing belt. other than that, nope. and it's working fine. now clocking 190km, so, twice change timing belt, and also twice changing coolant. yes, me too using stock proton coolant..the only thing that i changed on my car is the extractor and the HU. others are stock. even the stock front abs is still performing fine until now. the a/c i never serviced. it's still just as cold. 2011 persona h line.

parts that finally damaged since ownership:
1. drive shaft (left)
2. crankshaft sensor
3. Rear abs

and, that's it.

First time changing my engine oil to Shell helix 15-50 (high mileage), my car mileage is 244,000km

havent change yet..
Now my car at workshop due to engine overheated..need to change the head gasket   

his car overheat until max temp causing blown head gasket.
in other word, overheat causing the head gasket blown.

What is the suitable grade oil for persona ? current mileage is 60k , using 10w40 semi synthetic now ... Plan to change to fully synthetic , is it worth ? Since i travel highways alot , is it better to use 10w40 although it's semi synthetic ? Since the car will be used to travel long distance most of the time, will 5w40 and 10w40 offer the same level of protection when the engine is hot ?

yes , i found one lately , LM 10w40 molygen...  The 5 means the viscosity under low temp, right ? Since i'm travelling on highway most of the time using this car, so it shouldnt be any problem if i am using 5w40 , right ?Since the engine will be hot most of the time...5w40 and 10w40 should gv the same protection , right ?

The W in viscosity rating means winter. So it doesn't really matter to us in Malaysia. On the side note, IMHO the difference of fully vs semi for our car is the durability of oil base, as in resistance to deterioration. I use semi only because Proton once told me their oil filter is designed to change every 5,000km. So if i use fully, i still need to change oil filter every 5,000km and top up a bit of the oil lost during filter change. I guess there's no hard rule of what oil we use. Just we need to check on other parts that involve in engine oil function.
